They need to show their stockholders sales revenue and earnings growth and time is running out. They are: Autonation (Power in SoCal), Sonic Automotive, Group 1 Automotive, and United Auto Group. Go to Google and find their websites and then their dealers in your area (tons in SoCal). Contact the Internet Manager and tell him/her you know he/she needs to generate sales by year end. Respectfully ask for the dealer GM or even the Corporate Regional Manager. These guys probably have some financial carrot for meeting or beating preset targets. If you talk their language (i.e, added sales revenue + incremental margin) they should be motivated to get you into a vehicle by 12/31, even if the margin on the deal is below their norm. Case in point, I rec. a call earlier from a Power dealer with a vehicle close to what i had specified. When I advised that I had previously located a vehicle, if was as if I had taken away her Christmas gifts - she sounded very dejected. Happy hunting and good luck!

Just took home a Touring w RES and NAV home. Had booked the car Nov 06. I love the Ocean mist color. Not sure of this is the best deal in CT. Paid 36300 + 278 dealer conveyance fee + tax + registration. Came to 39K on road. So far the car has been great. I did not like the dealer Watertown Honda. They were not willing to take any finance and were bent on using HFS. They offered a deal of 3,9 APR. They finally agreed with the Capital one loan I got for 3.5. I will not recommend this dealer to anyone. I love my oddyssey though

Just bought a 2005 Odyssey Touring recently from Rusty Wallis Honda in Dallas, TX. I wanted silver with black leather, and multiple dealers had several on their lot. The best offer I could get was $1,800 off MSRP with "protection pkg - wheel locks, cargo liner, and splash guards ~$450" at no charge. I had the dealer install a 9 inch Panasonic DVD for $1,400 since I really didn't want to pay for both NAV and DVD. No other dealer would beat $1,800 off MSRP. In fact, sever dealers said they were "selling at MSRP" then offered $500-1,400 off MSRP. I also got 2.9% for 60 months. So far the van is great. Hope this helps!

I am heading to Nanuet Honda and Mahwah Honda. They have a lot more Odysses in stock so I figure they might be able to come down on price a little bit. Kevin

Replying to: rmarks (Dec 28, 2004 11:24 am) The internet sales manager at Classic Honda in Streetsboro, OH is offering invoice+tax+$125 doc fee on any 05 Odyssey (excluding any touring) on their lot. That's the best quote I have seen anyone mention in this forum. Too bad that I am at least 10-12 hrs drive away from Streetsboro. |

Replying to: rmarks (Dec 28, 2004 11:24 am) I got the quote from the internet sales manager in the afternoon, dropped by in the evening and drove it home. They treated us well; it was a very good car buying experience with no surprises. Their Touring pricing was better than the EX or EX-L (was told that they wanted to clear out some of the touring inventory) in relation to invoice. I don't remember the exact amount, but recall the EX and EX-L quotes were more than $1k above invoice I think. Still, much better than the other local dealers who weren't willing to talk about anything below MSRP. You can contact me directly if you have questions. |
