EX with Cloth in Oklahoma by bessonoff

Just would like to report my transaction.
Last Saturday picked up my 05 Ody EX with cloth.
Paid 25,900 including doc fees, TT&L excluded. No accessories added.
Bought from Bob Howard Honda in Edmond, OK.
Sent out about 40 price requests to ds in DFW, Tulsa, OKC, Wichita, Little Rock, KC, and Memphis areas. The next best deal was from some Honda ds in Enid, OK - 26,000 with doc fees.
Would strongly recommend getting a quote from Bob Howard Honda. I was really surprised how many Odys they had on their lot. I estimated there were about 25 Odys waiting for buyers. Transaction went very smoothly and the saleman was very professional , no BS , no crossselling or something. Thanks to all for sharing your experienses. This forum helped me a lot. MC and HNY to everyone.

That's a tremndous price.......great negotiating skills. I got 1,200 over invoice; however, I didn't get any of the accessories that you did. Effectively, those make your 1,000 over invoice even better by 300 or 400 bucks.

I thought I got a good deal.......b/c I thought I knew the dealer pretty well b/c having bought 2 cars from him over the last 10 years.

So what's your secret??

What color did you get?

Need your help.

I was initially searching for an LX, but after checking a few local dealers and finding that they do not like to order LX but instead like to pile up EX in their lots. I wonder why EX is perceived as more in demand than LX. Could you guys share why EX is a more popular choice?

Many thanks.

It's sort of by design. Honda prefers to put all the most desired features in its vehicles starting from the EX trim in order to do a "value" pricing model. In the case of the Odyssey, certain appealing options like power sliding doors and alloy wheels are only availble if you get EX.

Have found a dealer in Virginia offering $1500 off all in stock Odyssey's.

Is $1500 off MSRP a good price, especially for EX-L NAV/RES/DVD which is my choice ?

I have had a hard time even finding any in N. Carolina where I am or in VA where also looking.

If this is a good price and OTD is ok would grab it in a heartbeat.

Let me know what y'all think. If it works out will post the Dealership so all will know.

Thank you for the information on Bob Thomas Honda in Bend. They also quoted me $28,500 for the EX-L. After another dozen inquiries to dealers in Oregon, the second best quote was $29,800. I gave them a $500 deposit today and will pick up in a few days. I'm happy with this deal. Thanks again.

Got the 05 EX-L Nav + RES at 500 off from MSRP in Bay Area. The finance guy try to sell me Honda care 7/75/0 and told me MSRP is $2800. (Must be kidding or a big liar).

After check the Edmund board, I notice most of you get 7/100/0 coverage ... pay between $900 and $1800. So I complain with dealer and dealer agree to match the coverage.
