I want to buy an EX-L model. This is my research so far.

MSRP: ---------------------> $30,295.00
Invoice: ------------------> $27,033.95 (A)
Factory hold back (2 %): --> $ 616.20 (B)
Dealer's total cost -------> $26,417.75 (A-B)
Fair Profit (10% for Nov)--> $ 2,641.75 (C)
Sub Total -----------------> $29,059.53 (A-B+C)
Destination Charges -------> $ 515.00
Total ---------------------> $29,574.53

Tax & Title (approx 8-10%)

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE ? Or Am i smoking pot ?
All dealers are expecting a profit of 15% or more in November, isnt this too much ?

Thanks for the tips about Nalley Honda. I am in Atlanta and looking at the 2005 Ody. I will definitely check them out.

Cheers.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any price info or research on EX-L with RES?

Quita1221: In NW suburb of Phila, the two local dealers would not budge off MSRP and certainly act as if all the local dealers have sworn and pledged to one another to hold that line ("MSRP - and you won't find any dealers around here that will give you any better".

Jones Honda in Lancaster was (is?)doing $1000 off MSRP. Bedard Bros. in Cheshire, MA was (is?) doing $950 over invoice.

I ordered from Bianchi in Erie, PA, and got a deal roughly equivalent to Bedard (travel to Erie was easier for me than to Chesire, MA).

Does any one know of a dealer in the Southwestern United States that will sell well below MSRP. The dealers listed in earlier Messages, near the East Coast, that are doing this, are to far from me.

A reporter is interested in speaking with someone who has experienced negative equity with a car loan. (Meaning that you have traded in a car before you paid it off and have rolled the leftover loan amount into your new car loan.) She would like to talk with you about why you decided to do it and how you feel about it now. Names can be changed, if necessary. Please contact Pam Krebs, Edmunds.com PR at pkrebsedmunds.com by end of day today, Monday, Nov. 8, with your name and daytime phone number.
