Replying to: steve_ (Nov 05, 2004 7:06 am) The deal that we got was very similar to what martyb said he got in his earlier post. We paid a total of $30,000 out the door without taxes. The price included the documentation fee ($199)and VIN etching fee ($199). Including a few options minor options that was thrown in the cost appeared to be about $550 over invoice pricing. The sales people at Jasper were very friendly from the beginning. I checked on their inventory by looking at the Jasper Honda website (www.jasperhonda.com) and the salesman told me that he would match the price that was offered for martyb. I asked him to send me a quote with the VIN number and he faxed it immediately. That and a $500 deposit held the car for me till I could pick it up this morning. While waiting for the paper work to process (about 15 minutes), I asked the Jasper Honda guy why their deals were much better than what you could find in big cities. He stated that the way Jasper Honda sustained their business was by attracting customers from near by big cities like Birmingham and the way to get them to drive 45 miles (or in my case 200miles) was to offer substantial discounts. The whole experience was thoroughly professional and the dealership gets high marks in customer care. I appreciated the fact he was not trying to sell me things I did not need. I would strongly recommend Jasper Honda to all concerned. I tried to deal with Fletcher Honda but they did not have any inventory and when one EX-L/RES did come in the salesman wanted me to pay $1500 over invoice. The drive from Jasper to Memphis was fun and my wife really enjoyed driving the new Ody. The upgrades from our '99 Ody is quite noticeable from a comfort, handling and noise standpoint. We sure are glad we waited for the new Ody. RCM |

Purchased White EX-L with Cross Bars, Wheel Locks, Splash Guards, Cargo Tray, and Stripes at the Richmond Honda in Richmond, VA. Price Paid: $28,985 (MSRP - $1,310) + $515 (Destination Charge) = $29,500 before taxes and fees. No trade-in and no financing. |

Hello! This is my first post but i've been reading this discussion for a while now. I think this is really good! People get to actually benefit from other people's experience I just want to know if there is anybody here who has purchased an EX-L RES with some accessories in the Eastern Iowa Region (Iowa City, Cedar Rapids area). I am planning to buy one. I have contacted 2 dealers and both offered MSRP. No discounts except for one accessory (one was 3rd row sunshade and the other was a bike rack) which they are willing to throw in for free. Thanks and i hope somebody can help me out. |

I'm looking for a good deal on the 2005 Honda Ody. From the looks of things it looks as if none of the dealers in my area are budging on the price. Has anyone had any luck in the Philadelphia area?

If you are a member of BJs Wholesale Club, you can check out their auto program and they'll give you the number of a participating dealership that will give you a discount -- I've found $1000 off MSRP. You may not have to be a member, when I called the number on the website to ask for a dealer they didnt ask for my membership info.
