Hello, I just purchased a new '05 Exl w/Res from a dealer in Renton, Wa. I have not received the vehicle yet (2weeks) but I did process all the paperwork. I bought their extended warrenty with a $50 deductible for 6yrs or 75k. They charged me around $1300 for this. Having not bought an extended warrenty before I am not sure if this is a good value or not. Anyone have a suggestion as to whether or not I should keep this? Thanks,

Replying to: pazman1 (Oct 29, 2004 9:47 am) I purchased the warranty from my dealership (Stevens Creek Honda)for $1900. This is the HondaCare for 7yr/100k miles with $0 deductible. The price increase is due to the fact that this warranty has a dealer buy-back clause. If I don't have any warranty work claims between the original warranty and when the extended warranty expires, the purchase price is fully refundable. |

Wonder if anyone out there had any recent contact with Bedard Bros in MA that was highly recommended by [psuwife] and [icecream] a few days ago. I called them this past friday. They told me the same info as what psuwife and icecream posted: $950 over invoice, $50 doc fee, will take care (for free) of NYS registration before we come to pick up the car, and even give a full tank of gas free. However, they will not have any available until 4-6 weeks later. Last Saturday we visited a local dealer to have another test drive. This time, we took both Ody EX (we are looking for a EXL but the dealer had only EX) and Sienna XLE out and two of us switched cars during the test drive - just to remove any last doubt on whether we are 100% sure to go with Ody. The result: we are sure we will go with Ody. The dealer seemed willing to give a little off the MSRP, but not a lot (they would give more if we take any off their lot on this last business day of October - they had 8 EX available but I want a sunroof and leather). So I am now inclined to give Bedard Bros. a try. Any insight and/or recent experience with them are appreciated.

I have been all over this site preparing to purchase our first minivan. I ended up purchasing from Honda Cars of Bellevue (NE). Offered $1500 below MSRP (TTL not included, only other fees were $17 title processeing and $32 doc. fee), they accepted, pick it up tomorrow. Thanks to all who contributed to a good purchase. |

| Just Got our Black 05 EXL RES/DVD in Denver. Waited about 6 weeks to get it since it was the only Black van coming before December/January with the features we wanted. Paid $500 under MSRP from John Elway Honda. Also picked up an extended warranty 7years/100k for $2k. The warranty seemed a bit high since I had a aftermarket quote from "warranty direct" for about $1,300. Eitherway, I was preapproved for 5.05 interest when we went in to get the van, but the dealer was able to get us 3.9% interest and I went ahead and got the warranty through my dealer since they saved me some money. We absolutely LOVE the van. I will post my impressions soon on the other forums for this vehicle. | |

Alright - here is everything I know about the Ody buying environment in the southeast as of last week. My wife and I picked up our '05 EX-L RES in Slate Green/Olive from Jasper Honda in Jasper, AL on Saturday. We bought it thru the internet dept. and with MSRP of $32,410 purchase price was $29,998.50 plus tax, tag and title. Since we were out of state, they did not collect tax or $ for tag. This price included a $199 doc fee and a $199 window etch fee, and the dealer threw in mud guards. The etching had not been done when we got there and we could have opted to not have it done, but the price would not have changed. We had it done and got a policy that pays $2,500 if our van is stolen within 3 years and not recovered. On Friday night, I had driven over an hour to purchase a van at Conyers Honda, but there was a mix up on the color codes (another dealer told me Slate Green was code GZ when in fact it is GX, so partly my fault because I told Conyers I was looking for GZ/OL). It turned out to be Sagebrush - very nice, but not what my wife wanted. Conyers had agreed to sell the sagebrush for $30,3?? including fees, which was over $2,000 under MSRP but about $400 more than what we bought for. Conyers told me they could have had a Slate Green for me by about the 3d week of NOV. One of the sales managers at Ed Voyles Honda did a search for me and found what we wanted in Jasper. I called and told them I would come get it immediately if they would sell at $1,000 over invoice total, and that's pretty close to what we did. Experience went very well - everything was as expected - no strings, no surprises. FYI, Butler Honda in Milledgeville was willing to sell at about the same price as Conyers Honda - both good prices, but for the best price I have found, other than what appeared to be a great price at Fletcher Honda in Arkansas, I would highly recommend Jasper Honda. Speaking of Fletcher Honda, I know several people bought at $500 over invoice plus $99 there, but I had a horrible experience with them and would not waste a single phone call dealing with them. The sales person I heard several others mention on odyclub.com NEVER returned my calls one single time. Of the eight or so times we spoke, I called him. He initially agreed unequivocally to sell me a van at $500 over invoice and then the fun started. Apparently their GM got fired and the new guy refused to allow him to honor deals he had made. One of the owners then told him it was OK to honor committments to me and to others and then to "tone it down". Then, I spoke to the sales guy again trying to get him to take a deposit and he told me that when a van he had ordered for someone came in, it was "taken away from him" by management and sold to someone else for more money. I sent a letter to the owners asking for written confirmation as to whether I would be sold a van at the agreed upon price and got NO response. I quit wasting my time with those morons and bought from someone who said what he meant and did what he said. Lastly, if anyone is looking for a Touring with NO RES or NAVI, Ed Voyles Honda told me last week that they were "heavy" in tourings and would sell at $500 over invoice - not sure about add ons, etc., but a heck of a price on a Touring. Last Wed., Ed Voyles had 15 or so vans. The dealer I bought from gave me a good price on the EX-L RES but said he could not have discounted a touring that much - guess it all depends on what is selling locally and what the dealer has in stock. BTW, we love the van. I am still learning the features, but so far it is everything we were looking for. MartyB trimup
