No discounts for me! by strawboss1

Here in Kingwood, Texas, outside of Houston, I inquired on a 05 Honda Ody Touring and LX, and was quoted, via the interet, sticker price, plus the VIN etching (rip off). However, they are dealing a bit on the 2 04's that they still have on the lot.

Bummer-had my heart set on a 05 with a little discount, but now I guess I'll be among those waiting.

Also, I have been to the dealer and have driven the 2 04's and the 2 05's they have on the lot.

That's a pretty high-end neighborhood what with all the strict zoning requirements and bike paths everywhere. Some of the best camouflaged grocery stores and gas stations I've ever seen! Maybe you need to widen your list of dealers.

Has anyone gotten a good look at the olive leather? It looks light gray in the brouchure and gold on the web site.

I guess I could widen my net, but I've heard such great things about their service and I guess I'm a little skittish about buying somewhere else and asking a different place to service it. Plus, I actually like the salesman! Lame logic, but I'm just getting started on my search.

Yeah, they don't call Kingwood "The Liveable Forest" for nothing.....

Good salespeople can be hard to find. If it helps, most service departments are run separately from sales so the service writer may not know or care where you purchased your van. Good luck in your search.

I suspect the dealer was not clear with me. I plan to get clarification tomorrow. Interesting, I have pretty much blanketed the entire Southern California area over the last 2 weeks and found dealers just won't go much below MSRP. Some still insist on $1500 OVER or more. However, I am working with one Northern California dealer at $1K under MSRP and I found one Southern Cal dealer at almost that amount. I also have one dealer that insists he can match anyone's price, yet he is at $1500 over MSRP. We will see. I'm still working on the deal. As soon as my deal is done (hopefully this week or next), I will post the names of the dealerships). By the way there are a few hold ups on the potential deal, such as availability of a color and does that dealer have that color in an upcoming allocation.

I fail to mention no additional fees such as dealer prep, etc.

I purchased my 05 Ody EX Silver Pearl on 10/1 at Sterling McCall Honda there in Kingwood. Paid MSRP plus their add on sealer ($395). Their service department is good. Love living in the Liveable Forest!
