| How long is your wait going to be, or was it on the lot already? | |
| I could find nothing on the lot anywhere in the chicago area. Had trouble even finding one to testdrive. I am told that the wait for my LX will be 2-3 months, which I am willing to do. | |

Thought I'd pass along this dealer for those waiting in the Washington D.C. area. I tried the locals, Herson's, Ourisman, Rosenthal, Sport, etc. last August, and got pretty much the same responses. 3 - 6 month wait or about $5K in dealer installed options. Coleman Honda had (still has) numerous MY 2000 Canadian EX at $2 - $3K over MSRP, these have been covered here before, I did not care for the 3rd party warranty or the price. The fact that they still have so many is testament that most others reached the same conclusion. Put down a $500 deposit with Herson's in August. They managed to lose my business in September after a classic bait and switch game. Kept my cool and got my deposit back. Suffice it to say that I would stay away from this dealer. A neighbor got a 2001 SS EX from Heritage Honda in Towson (Baltimore), MD in September at MSRP. She recommended them. I finally took the plunge and gave it another try and put down a $500 deposit with them on 11/04, got my dark green EX at MSRP on 12/08. No fuss, no muss. Used the delivery checklist from this forum (super!), and also got the Honda care 7/100/0 warranty at $895. I was told by the dealer that this price equates to $50 over cost on the warranty. No pull, clunks or problems so far. Honda got this one right, a super van. The product is worth the hassle in getting one, hang in there. Cordially, Erik V. |

How many of you buy it in another city without even checking it out and have the dealer ship it to you? Certainly kind of risky right? |
|
| I for one, don't have a problem with buying from a remote location. If there are any problems, the local dealer can address them under the warranty. You might have to travel a little bit to find one at the price and equipped as you like. Any dealer can do any necessary service or warranty repairs. | |

Can anyone help me? I desire a 2001 Green Odyssey EX with no add-ons. I am willing to travel, but refuse to pay these crazy prices. I sincerely hope they start producing more cars. If I choose not to buy the Odyssey, then what is the opinion of the group regarding the 2nd best mini-van. Please do not respond if you are a dealer, unless you can offer the car way below MSRP!!! You can e-mail me directly at Shorehamli |

| I live in Oregon and many of the dealers are selling Odyssey's shipped in from Canada. The warranty is invalidated by the move across the border but they are including a similar warranty (3 yr/36k) to make up for it. The best price I have found is 26K for a silver. Does anybody know anything about these grey market Odyssey's and is this a good deal? | |
|
I think your greatest concern is to see if that other warranty is as good or better than the Honda one. Ask specific questions or see if they'll give you a copy of the warranty to look over. If not I'd wonder why. Plus the Canadian Ody's gauges are marked in KM's with miles marked in a smaller font on most of the gauges. Good luck |

| If I hadn't bought the Odyssey, I would have bought the MPV, no doubt about it. It's smaller but the interior is smartly done and the 2.5L Duretec seems to be serving the current owners well. It also can be had for a little over invoice and still has a 1k rebate I think. My .02 | |
