I got my grey 2000 EX-NAVI for $29,400. The only "extras" included were: splash guards, fenderwell trim, pin striping, floor mats, cargo cover, and when available, the new nav DVD. I am very happy with my dealer (Renton Honda) and the vehicle. I have since bought the ATF cooler and installed it myself (very simple job). I would recommend the car to anyone with one reservation. The road noise is high especially on our rough roads. I am investigating noise absorbing material at this moment and will report later.

Mike, I'm with you on the road noise.
We have a 2K1 EX and about 1300 miles on it now, the noise is loud. I have a '89 GMC 2500 Truck and my truck has a lot less noise then the Honda.
But, the Honda is nice....I will keep an eye on posts and watch for your results of some kind of fix for this.

Thanks
Dick

Honda Odyssey Purchase Questions by srmellott

The local Honda dealer has told me that there is a charge for floor mats in the Honda Odyssey EX, even though the sales brochure indicates that they are included. Does anyone know if there should be a charge for floor mats, especially if I am buying below the MSRP? Also, if I order an Odyssey now, should the dealer lock in the current MSRP? He is indicating that he wants to base the sales price on the MSRP that is in effect when the van arrives. Thanks.

Floor mats by mike734

I believe the floor mats are standard on the 01 EX. Now for some advice on the price:

Everything is negotiable until you drive it off the lot.

If you can't get them to move on price, try to get some options thrown in.

Be ready and able to walk. You would be amazed how effective walking out the door can be.

Good luck!!

Mats ARE included for free and listed on the window sticker.
And YES the dealer should lock in a selling price.
The MSRP will NOT change.
I sell Hondas and to me it sounds like the salesman is trying to sell the car to the highest bidder. Get the price in writting, signed by the Sales Manager, and an estimated time of arrival.
I'm not sure if I would trust a salesman who lied about floormats, or had such poor product knowledge. I sell Hondas!!!!

The floor mats are standard, meaning there is no extra charge for them. We purchased a 2K1 EX about 3 weeks ago and the mats come with the van.

As Mike stated, price is negotiable, get a purchase order from dealer based on the price that you and dealer come to terms with.

My opinion on this dealer, he is playing games and will continue to play games, using your emotions on the love a new car. (I'd walk, and I would also ask to speak the GM and let him know about this salesperson trying to charge for something that comes with the van)

HondaCare extended warranty by sully12

I just got the call. My Ody '01 EX SS is in. So far everything going OK from Friendly Honda in Pokeepsie,NY except for the 3 month wait. MSRP with no mandatory extras. The dealer just quoted me a price of $1285 for the 7/100,000/0 HondaCare ext warranty; $945 for a third party one. I've read on this forum the HondaCare has been purchased for $885 to $895. Has anyone recently purchased this warranty at a dealer other than where you purchased the car? Especially in the tri-state area of NY-NJ-CT. And at what price? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
