Internet Shopping by mwaddo

Hi All,

I have a very general question for all of you you purchased your Ody thru the Internet sales rep of your local(?) dealer. How did you get the email address of the internet sales rep of the dealers?

I used the "find a dealer" search tool on Honda's web page, and it gives the name of the sales rep, but not the email address.

Did you go to each dealers web page, or is there some way I can find these all faster?

Also, I am looking for a new EX-RES. In general, should I expect to pay MSRP? Over? Under? I'm in Delaware, so I will probably be shopping in the DE/PA/MD/NJ area.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

first off, never pay msrp. you should be able to get upto $1800 or more off msrp. if you cant find them in your shopping area, as i couldnt, lookup dennis jenkins, jay honda in cleveland, oh. even with shipping i saved about $1500 off msrp.

as far as getting the internet sales rep email address, i used the honda site and then visited each dealers web page.

good hunting.

To get my list of dealer e-mail addresses, I first went to yahoo, clicked on yellow pages, then clicked on dealers (under automotive), then clicked on new, then clicked on Honda. Somewhere in there you'll need to enter your zip code if you haven't been to yahoo before. Anyway, this give you a very comprehensive list of the Honda dealers sorted by distance away from your location. Only a few of them had websites. I ended up calling them and asking for the name and e-mail address of their internet or fleet salesperson. Don't fall into the trap of selecting "salesperson" on their phone system. Either wait for the correct option or wait for their secretary or operator to answer the phone.

Don't know if this is the easiest way, but that's how I did it.

Happy E-shopping

I just purchased my 03 EX for 500 dollars under sticker and the dealership was excellent. Got the color I wanted and everything. Great Dealership. If interested ask for Dick or Greg.

Thanks

I wanted to add my $0.02 since I think this forum is a great tool for buyers -- desperately needed to compensate for the many sales 'tools'. Anyway, it seem in this part of the country Odysseys are in short supply and dealers are unashamed to ask for $3000 *over* MSRP and load the vehicles with lots of installed junk to raise the price further. Internet quotes all come in at MSRP to +$1000. Using info I found on this forum, and a few EBay postings, I convinced the dealer I could get $2000 below MSRP, but would have to pay $1000 shipping. So, I was willing to settle for $860 below MSRP to avoid buying a vehicle sight-unseen. They didn't seem happy about it, and I had to settle for White, but they took it. Summary: Paid $26500 (+DMV doc fees).

I hope this is helpful. For anyone in the area, I suggest contacting Thomason.com.

We just bought our white EX from Goodson Honda from Mike, and walked out the door writing a check for $28,233. The Conroe location was going to meet the original deal of $28616 for an EX-L, but we decided cloth would be better in this heat. Extras included cross bars, cargo tray, mud flaps, air deflector and pinstripe.. Conroe was also including these extra options.
