#29013 of 30574 Odyssey 2012 touring
Jun 24, 2012 (2:24 pm)
Just sharing my experience buying honda odyssey 2012 touring. First i went online and have quote all honda dealer for honda odyssey 2012 touring.. Each dealer giving different price. And i when to the lowest and that Spreen Honda dealer, quoted me for $35,995 thats the lowest queto i had found. And then response some other dealer if they can match the price.. Some dealer did. Got three dealer response and they can match the price. Not to bad and i don't have to drive all the way to loma linda for the lowest price. Got the best quote, right color and close where i leave.. Total i paid $39.200.00 including everything ( tax, license + 7 yrs /100k miles with maxguard, secure wheel nuts, storage mat and crossbar and rack.. Best deal of all. Way to do it just negotiate the price, you already the number ( price/quote ) so ask the best deal, try to earn business with them that not other dealer they can give you.. Anyway when to robertson honda. Love it the price and interest for 0.9% for 60 month.. Thanks robertson honda of north hollywood

Just found this forum and wanted to get the gallery's thoughts. The following prices are from two lowest dealers I've been dealing with and do not include destination, tax, title, etc. I live in and the dealers are from the Chicago suburbs.
$36,573 + included options (already installed by dealer) are splash guards, wheel locks, and trunk rack $499 for a total of $37,072
$36,323 no options added
The cheaper one is a good hour or more away while the higher one is 5 min. I already asked the one if he could keep it $36573, I wouldnt expect him to match the other since his has options and he said no, they are already taking a loss.
I don't think I really need or want any of the options but I really dont want to take a road trip to save $749 on a 72 month loan. What do you guys think about the quotes and which is a better deal at the end of the day?
#29015 of 30574 2012 EXL RES Tennessee
Jun 25, 2012 (6:45 am)
I told the dealer I would pay 27500 OTD with my trade of a 2005 EXL RES with 117k.
They made it to $27602...so I took it. Here's the breakdown:
8/120k honda care: 1546 (this was the only option I wanted included in the price)
Footprints: 99 (I told them I didn't want this, but they included anyway, some sort of theft thing
Bus Tax: 76 have no idea what this is
Less trade: 9000
Plus tax: 1955
To be honest, I had a bottom line I wanted, so I could care less what they called the various fees and how they were applied. The finance guy laughed and said I got a good deal...seems that way. The original quote was 28109, without the warranty. NO installed options, just as it came.
Based on my experience with my 2005, I would not have bought this vehicle without the extended warranty, and only Honda Care.

wow... Your post is making reconsider the extended warranty and Honda care thing again. So based on your experiences you really think it worth the extra cost. If you didnít have good experience with your 2005, why did buy the same vehicle again and didnít consider alternative options?
Congrats on your new Odyssey!
#29017 of 30574 Purchased 2012 Odyssey Touring Elite - Bay Area
Jun 25, 2012 (9:32 am)
I just purchased the Touring Elite with OTD price of $43k including a cargo tray and Cargo Organizer (about $380 in accessories) in Bay Area, CA. I noticed that the Elite pricings quoted on this forum in MD seems to be $2-3k less than CA. I have not seen any recent postings for an Elite in the Bay Area. Can anyone comment if I paid a good price for this car? Most internet managers quoted me $44k + Tax, license, fees and destination charge. Thanks!

Which dealer in Bay Area did you buy your Touring Elite from? Can you help me provide the purchase price details (base price, fee, tax, etc...)? I am looking to buy the Touring Elite in Bay Area also.

Because I actually LOVE the vehicle, just don't trust the transmission. I did drive the Dodge/Chrysler van and it just doesn't compare. The Toyota has the worst fuel economy of all the vans, the VW is actually a dodge, Nissan I don't really know much about, but they don't rate well and there are no other options for a minivan. (ps...drove the Mazda5 and loved it, but too small) I have a family of 5 all the time and 6 sometimes. All the crossovers lose their cargo area when using the third seat. So a minivan was really our only option. The Odyssey is the best in that class, IMO.
Here's what they repaired/replaced on my 2005 under the extended care warranty: 4 power steering pumps, catalytic converter, repaired the door mechanism when the auto open quit working, repaired the dvd player, steering rack. And that's just what I can think of. The transmission torque converter started going out at 97k, confirmed at 107k, outside the warranty period. I am trying to get some of my money back right now since I paid to have it repaired before the current TSB on it was issued that changed the starndard warranty to 105k for the torque converter - June 2012. The reason I traded is because after having it rebuilt, it went out again 3 months later, another rebuild, then again 2 months after that - so 3 rebuilds in 5 months and 6000 miles (which that wasn't Honda's fault - independent shop - who fixed it each time under the transmission repair warranty) but leaving me stranded on the hwy twice 100 miles from home. Just didn't trust it to get me to Florida in July.
ps. check out the odyclub.com forum and it will give you an idea of some of the problems the van has and the frequency, plus lots of insights...

If the original quote was 28109 w/o the warranty, how were you able to bring the cost down and still manage to add the warranty costing 1546. You must be salesman too. Let us know how you did that.
