Bad driving habits don't explain why my 2012 Touring Elite is displaying this behavior after only 268 miles. In fact, I noticed it during the test ride with 2 miles on the van, but couldn't reproduce the problem until after I brought it home. This is a design flaw by Honda.
#28585 of 30577 Advice for buying 2011

Hello all. I've been reading this forum to prepare for a purchase and would like to thank everyone for their information. It has been very helpful.
I'm looking to buy a new or newer EX-L. I know my target price if I decide to buy a 2012 but during my searches I've found some new 2011. Some have less than 100 miles on them. Prices are not that different than a new 2012. I was wondering what a good target price would be for one of these cars. Should I just go by the KBB price?
Thanks for your help!
#28586 of 30577 Extended Warranty in Southern CA
Jan 31, 2012 (4:59 pm)
We bought a 2012 Odyssey EX-L w/RES. I am trying to find good quotes for extended warranty. When we bought the van our dealer quoted $2000 for 8yrs warranty. From this forum I found out that internet quotes cannot be used in California. Any suggestions appreciated.

I am looking for a Odyssey EX-L in the Bay Area. What is the lowest price that I should suggest? So far, the lowest quote I got is $32,715. I saw people are getting $31800, how do you do that? Thanks in advance.

Check with a credit union. As far as $2 grand from the dealer run away from him!

I was looking for Honda Care Extended Warranty. Did you mean that Credit Unions sell Honda Care Extended Warranties? This is the first time I am planning to buy an Extended Warranty. So I have no clue.

Hey all, I piggybacked on a fellow poster here after seeing what a great deal he got on his TE from Frank Kent Honda in Fort Worth. I was able to get the same exact deal, except I got a little something extra.
2012 Touring Elite with Honda pro-pak (wheel locks, splash guards, cargo tray), Body Side Moulding, and Roof Rails.
Negotiated price: $40,955 before TTL and my trade, Honda cash (-$750 towards down payment)
OTD: 42,748.55 (my taxes were reduced due to my trade)
Forest Smith took good care of us! Just be sure to go over paint job at time of delivery--we were too excited. Later that day we found a nib (something under the paint) and bubbles in the clear coat on lower door trim, then read many posts on OdyClub.com about Honda's paint issues, egads! Assume will be handled by warranty, but nothing beats factory paint!

Thank you very much for your information. I am going to buy the mat from Bernardi Honda as well. Not sure if I should buy extended warranty.
I did the same thing by asking Honda of Princeton to match Planet honda's price. Unfortunately they didn't agree. Finally I bought from Planet. Even though when I walked in their dealership, they tried to add some ridiculous package on the price, I was successful to let them remove it. Overall, My experience with planet is good.
EX-L, no RES, no NAV, Price $30800+400 doc+TTL
