#26602 of 30576 2011 Honday Odyssey Touring, Upstate NY
Oct 23, 2010 (4:15 am)
I just bought a Crystal Black Pearl 2011 Odyssey Touring from the Internet Sales manager (whose initials are KP) at D'ella Honda in Queensbury, NY. He was amazing. I am a mom of 2 (with a 3rd on the way) and I have no time for BS. He gave me a great deal, a great price on my trade and didn't try to upsell me on all the crap I didn't need.
Deal is as follows:
Offer: $38,375 ($692 above invoice)
Honda remote starter (installed): $500
Total price: $38,875
Doc fee: $75
TOTAL OTD: $41,148.75
I had a 2003 Accord V6 to trade (for which they gave me $8750) so my OTD cost was $32,398.75.

Did the Crystal Lake Honda dealer in their quote tell you that there is $495 in dealer accessories added to the van that was not included in their quote? I contacted them a few months ago about a 2010 Odyssey LX. The price they sent me via e-mail was very good so I drove over there to purchase the van. When I got there the same internet person you were dealing with turned me over to another salesperson who explained to me that all of their cars have these accessories installed and they will not remove them. Also, their quote on my trade was $1,500 lower than another Honda dealer so I left.

Is anyone getting a good deal with trade in value? I used Kelley Blue Book to appraise my car. It comes up with 18750 for excellent and 17750 for good condition. I would say its excellent condition and no one has disagreed that it isnt but they dont seem to use KBB as a valuation guide. 16500 to 17K is what im getting offered when I know retail its worth $23K. It seems impossible to get a decent price offered for the Odysessy and a fair price for my trade in.

It depends on two things. One is the price negotiated before trade. Negotiate your bottomline price before trade. Have them send you a quote in writing. Now bring your trade into the deal. Bring your kbb and nada with you. Do not depend on getting much more than trade-in value excellent. If you trying to trade a Honda for a Honda expect less for your trade if your trade is 1-3 years old. They can buy a new one for what used resale is. If you are going for a 2011 Odessey then wait a few months till everyone's buying fever goes away. They literally will sell the 2011 to someone else by the end of the month and before the next load is delivered, so they are not worried. In a couple months they will negotiate more, but with supply and demand they have the 2011 buyers cornered. 2010 models gives more negotiating room b/c the dealer buys them on floorplan which is like 90 days same as cash...after 90 days they have to pay interest. If they had it delivered back in August they have to sale it or start lose the money. So they have to move them. Hope it helps.

Yes, in the same boat. Let's see what we find in STL, otherwise looking in IL, IN, and beyond, possibly considering alternative options, like Sienna Ltd, although we prefer the Ody 11 Tour.
The couple of quotes I have so far from the usual dealers are appx 39.5K. But observing profit margins, invoice ntnl avgs, and the posts here, no way we are spending anything above 36-37max total. The CA and East Coast folks are looking at appx 35... So I'll be looking at those options, closing costs and registration transfer etc... Not in a huge hurry, but would like finalize by Thxgvg or mid Dec.
Def not go for the 39.5K, we can certainly do better... LMK how we can communicate.
#26608 of 30576 Any central Jersey Dealer quotes on 2011 Touring
Oct 23, 2010 (8:05 pm)
Did anybody receive quotes from central jersey dealer in Edison (Open Road Honda)?
I requested for internet quote for 2011 touring and they are still at MSRP. Garden State Honda is the best deal right now offering about $400 above invoice.
ORH says they cannot match it.
Anyone tried to negotiate?

Edmunds TMV shows the 2011 Odysseys selling at MSRP with destination and handling. Are they selling it over MSRP?

#26611 of 30576 2011 EX-L RES Odyssey
Oct 23, 2010 (10:48 pm)
Hi, Any inputs in Cary, NC in terms of price expectations for EXL-RES 2011 Odyssey, some dealers came back with 34,742 as shown on truecar.com but some are at MSRP, what a waste of time mailing these dealerships in this hard economy, instead of incentive to people buying new vehicle they are ripping off asking MSRP.
Also, how to calculate OTD price .. this what I have gathered on top of invoice, not sure if we can negotiate on any fees here :
Adv Fees - 350-500 approx
Processing Fee : 470
Tag : 122
Tax - 3% in NC
Doc Fee - 120 approx
Thanks in advance ...
