I've followed all of the leads that I've recently read here with disappointing results: Chris at Crown said that former internet manager was fired for discounting cars too much, so now will only offer $500 off MSRP; Jennifer at S&S in Bel Air said she's never made a deal at $700 off MSRP and quotes MSRP only (still attest to her honesty brunno?); McDavid will deal but said he's unable to locate local dealers who will agree to receive & prep Odys bought thru his dealership, and so suggests you pick up vehicles at dealership(kinda far for me)or give him name of a local dealer who will accept vehicle bought from him. I asked Crown what happens if vehicle is damaged when go to pick it up from local dealer and was told that the buyers only recourse would be to have it serviced under warranty. Of course, I'm not sure that helps if the vehicle is dented or has some other physical damage. Crown implied that buyer would still be obligated to accept the vehicle. That's not acceptable to me. Anyone got any other viable suggestions for someone living in the DC metro area (VA/DC/MD)who's willing to travel a couple of hours to get the best price? |

why would anyone opt to buy an extended warranty on a new car? why not wait at least until the car nears the end of the factory warranty? I've read the fine print on some of these warranties and they are really terrible value from what I've seen. Plus the fact that it's a Honda makes it even harder to justify. |

I hear of the stories from S&S in BelAir. This dealership gets only 7 or 8 Odys per month, and yet we have people that drive down here from BelAir and SWEAR that they are being told they can have deep discounts on Ody's. Seeing is believing...actually BUYING is believing! Jerry |

Anyone found any dealer around SoCal for less than MSRP? I am looking to pay less than MSRP on Ody. I found few that is offering MSRP, but I want to pay less as that's what some people are getting now. Also, should I wait for 03 model as it's already June? When does 03 come out? Is the pricing gonna be about the same as 02? |

| I take it you don't buy life insurance either. | |

Several dealers in SoCal are willing to sell the EX-L at MSRP, but along with that deal comes a "protection package", which adds about $1,500 or so to the base MSRP price. Looks like the dealers are getting the "protection", and I am getting the "package". This package includes a wheel locks, mud flaps, cargo something and maybe some other garbage. All dealer add-ons... Question: Is it unrealistic for me to acquire just a plain old EX-L at MSRP without any extras? |

yea I have life insurance....tons of it (term) a new car come with a warranty, why buy the extended plan while under warranty? huh? Anyone know how long I can wait to pick up my Odyssey after it hits the lot. They have my $1,000 deposit and want the balance when I pick it up. I was hoping to sell my existing car on my own to save a few grand. How long can I expect them to hold the car on their lot? Is net 30 acceptable? I know the lot wants their money now, but how long can I string this out? |

I tend to agree and have never gotten an aftermarket warranty - but I also prefer buying cars with a longer drivetrain factory warranty as my last two cars did (7/70 and 5/60). I also have no life insurance (no kids, spouse has great resume, why bother?). Steve Host SUVs, Vans and Aftermarket & Accessories Message Boards |
