I got a quote from a dealer in SoCal for $40,400 for 2009 new Odyssey Touring w/o PAX out the door. The breakup is $36,700 (invoice price) + $3,700 (tax, license). Is this a good deal? I proposed $38,000 out the door and it likely to settle at $39,000. There are not many tourings out there...Please share your thoughts

My dealer quoted me 35200 for the only Touring they had available. Unfortunately I can't tell you who it is because I am hoping to get that one. Just some food for thought. If I only had the foresight to jump on the van when they had 2500 or the 4000 incentive going around. Unfortunately i wasn't in the market then. BTW, I feel for you and that Cali tax. You would think with that high sales tax, you guys wouldn't be in this financial mess. Liberals/OBama take note.

Replying to: szn1 (Nov 03, 2009 2:42 pm) I am assuming $35,200, you mentioned is with out Tax and License fees. If I had to apply socal taxes its $35,200 + $3520 (roughly 10%) -> $38,720 - Its closer to $39,000, which is where I think the deal may end. Now that sales person did not call me back today, may be he thought he'wait to get me increase my bar? Are there any other things that I can ask for the same $39,000? Floor mats and more? Yeah, we are stuck in Cal mess. Sun is great, though. |

| I am planning to buy Honda Odyssey between now and Jan 2010, what is the best time? Is there any incentive or rebate around? Thanks! | |

Replying to: szn1 (Nov 03, 2009 2:42 pm) I'd take that deal as is. A few weeks back, I got a quote of 40700 OTD for an 09 Touring, and the dealer wouldn't budge on the price knowing I have a quote for 33.5K for a 10 EXL R&N. Back when there was incentives for 2500, the lowest price I've seen for an 09 Touring was 35K. Given TMP of 35700+, selling at 35K dealer lost .7K, but make up for it with 2.5K or a net gain of 1.8K. As there currently is no incentives, and you got quoted 35.2K, that's only 200 above baseline when there was incentive (check out accepted braggle at autobrag.com back in June). At 35.2K + 3925 for tax (ca dmv fee calculator) you're at 39125, just barely above 39K. That is a very good price. I'd have love to have a Touring for the wife, but could not justify the additional 4K for the bumper assisted parking (at 40.7 - got my R&N for 36.7). Good hunting.
