| I have an 08 EXL that I purchased during 4k mfr to dealer incentive, my cash price for the 08 EXL was 25760.04, had it 13 months put 30k miles on it (did a lot of summer traveling) and backed into a dumpster causing 4k damage. Car was repaired by honda dealer. Car is otherwise flawless. The dealership called out of blue seeking to make a deal. I kinda have a relationship there cause I purchased two other odysseys there. Here it is.. they will give me $25500 for my 08, sell me an 010 EXL w RES for $32215. This includes fog lights, mug guards, pin stripe, cargo mat, and front windows tinted. Dealer fee is $399, tax is around $500. This creates a total difference to get the new car 7700ish dollars. Do you think this is a good deal? Does the 7700 dollars calculate to my approxiamate depreciation given the miles and the accident? I know the RES adds around 1500 dollars to the price of the car. Any other suggestions? | |

I got a quote from a dealer in SoCal for $40,400 for 2009 new Odyssey Touring w/o PAX out the door. The breakup is $36,700 (invoice price) + $3,700 (tax, license). Is this a good deal? I proposed $38,000 out the door and it likely to settle at $39,000. There are not many tourings out there...Please share your thoughts

Replying to: venku (Nov 03, 2009 12:43 pm) C4C did hurt 09 inventory which is why you will pay more for an 09 than if C4C never existed. My dealer quoted me 35200 for the only Touring they had available. Unfortunately I can't tell you who it is because I am hoping to get that one. Just some food for thought. If I only had the foresight to jump on the van when they had 2500 or the 4000 incentive going around. Unfortunately i wasn't in the market then. BTW, I feel for you and that Cali tax. You would think with that high sales tax, you guys wouldn't be in this financial mess. Liberals/OBama take note.

Replying to: szn1 (Nov 03, 2009 2:42 pm) I am assuming $35,200, you mentioned is with out Tax and License fees. If I had to apply socal taxes its $35,200 + $3520 (roughly 10%) -> $38,720 - Its closer to $39,000, which is where I think the deal may end. Now that sales person did not call me back today, may be he thought he'wait to get me increase my bar? Are there any other things that I can ask for the same $39,000? Floor mats and more? Yeah, we are stuck in Cal mess. Sun is great, though. |
