They can huff and puff all they want, but they're doing a lot of their readers a disservice by publishing such erroneous information.

Perhaps they should have contacted someone at Edmunds as a reference.

I too had a deal with Steve. I did not know he was no longer working there until Tuesday. We had a great deal with him, $1100 under MSRP. We spoke with the General Sales Manager, Ed Bennett, and he was willing to go forward with the deal even though Steve did not get his approval. He was very nice about, very professional. You may want to try to contact him. We decided to walk since I am know interested in the '03 Sagebrush. We had on order the Havasu Blue EX-L-RES, so they will have an extra van sometime in July. I am sure it will not take long to sell it.

My understanding is that the minivan market has been contracting for at least 5 years - concurrent with the increase of the SUV market.

Since it's a zero sum gain market, Honda has basically taken sales from other makes with the Odyssey. Until the supply really outstrips the demand consistantly, MSRP will be the norm IMHO.

I will have 3 kids soon too - need center capt. chairs so Pilot not work. What is '03 Sagebrush - is it a color? Why do you not want Ody anymore? $1100 off is best deal I've heard of. Anyone use carsdirect for a quote? Is RES the Entertainment pkg?

The Sagebrush is a granite color a little different than Granite Green. We still want the Odyssey but I am more interested in this color than the Havasu Blue. If I did not like the Havasu Blue, the dealer was going to make me choose a color from an '02 model and not an '03. RES is the rear entertainment system, gotta have it!

formy3kids: Where can I see this color? Do you know when the '03 is coming out? I did not care for the Havasu Blue, I saw it in the brochure. I dont necessarily want Silver or White by default. I read that the Ent. Sys. was problematic here in these posts (a blue dot in the center)- I dont know what brand it is but the Audiovox is a very popular aftermarket here in socal. I'm definitely getting the Navig which is awesome and I'm getting the ent sys aftermarket w/ DVD and VCR. Wondering if the '03 will have 3rd row split seat and/or AWD as an option - Any ideas?

I recommended this place to someone a week or so ago, but just got an email that would change all that. They have an online negotiation system that showed 8 vehicles available, but the email stated:

"We do NOT have the vehicle you requested. The 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY is pre-sold. The system is not perfect but we are billled for the vans even before they arrive. Once the bill arrives they show in inventory. But we have a deposit on every van untill August now."

This after I spent over an hour comparing the available vehicles, registering for their online negotiation system, and trying to get it to work on a couple different Ody's.

Like it would be all that hard to keep pre-sold vehicles off the available inventory????????

I tried EVERY dealer in the NY metro area.
Most were asking $1000 OVER sticker, non-negotiable. However, I checked Hillside Honda's
website and found that they were selling Oddys
for MSRP.
Went test driving it yesterday. they have one
LX for test drive and a 3 page-long list of orders. Wife fell in love with the minivan and
we placed order there and then. Three hours, in and out, at (what we thought) a reasonable price.

Looking forward to my new Oddy in mid-June!
I worked with Philip Dietch, a very helpful salesman there. No pushy extras, no dealer add-ons, etc. If you're in this area, I highly recommend that you check them out!
