| I emailed Rick Case in cleveland, Ohio. They returned a call to me the next day. The best they could do for me was MSRP, and no discount, no lunch, and no oil changes. I am about 3 hours away from cleveland. | |
| I took delivery last night,4/16/02, of an in-stock white EX-L with entertainment package, mud guards, pin stripe, luggage bars, wood trim kit, and cargo tray for $31,533. The entertainment package was not the Honda one, instead it is a package offered by Audiovox that includes an overhead 7" flip down screen, a DVD player, a VCR, and two wireless headsets. I think this option looks as good installed as the Honda package, both appearance and function, plus you get a VCR. | |
| Looking for an Odyssey EX in So. Cal. Has anyone heard what prices are? | |
| When I talked to Jim Reinart over the phone, he promised he would have a vehicle to test drive and he would give me a good deal. I didn't believe the last statement not on an odyssey. After the test drive it was standard operating car buying procedures give and take. I was ready to walk at one time but when the dust settled he got what he wanted and I got what I wanted. The bigest hangup was the price for my trade in. I guess you just need to go there and slug it out. The best part of the whole deal was he had the vehicle in stock. On an Ody thats worth MSRP any time | |
| Anyone know what the best prices for an Odyssey EX in Fresno, CA Central Valley area are? | |
| What are people paying for the 7yr/100k miles extd warranty and is it something I should get? | |
| My wife and I have been discussing the purchase of an '02 EX (trading up from a '96 LX). I have called all the dealers near us (100 miles or so) and done the internet thing, etc. I finally got the sales manager at the dealer closest to me to agree to a price of $26,500 including freight for one of the 4 EX's coming in within the next 8 weeks. That's $710 off MSRP (incl freight of $27,210). I bet if I go back in with a check for a deposit tomorrow I can get that to a $1,000 off. Someone said it before, but the Pilot 8-seater is coming out soon and should sway some potential buyers off the Ody's. Another note: Colonial Honda in Perryville still had 5 EX's last time I checked but all had stickers of $32000 b/c they added every conceivable option at the dealer and they will not budge on price. Good luck I say! Please heed our advice people and REFUSE to pay sticker for a new anything. | |
| After my wife finally decided what color she wanted (GG), I decided to do an e-mail blast to all the dealers in No VA and Eastern MD to get a quote on an LX with security system, remote entry, and roof rack (I will get more accessories and install them myself). I e-mailed about 34 dealers using the e-mail address from the official Honda.com site. Amazingly, about 10 of the addresses were invalid (any dealers reading this pay attention--it's hard for people to get in touch with you with bad contact info). I was able to get good addresses for about half the failures from their web sites. The others never got my request. I asked for their best quote with no trade-in and cash purchase and also their delivery date. I receive 18 responses within 5 days. I ordered the van from a MD dealer with the best quote, who also happened to have one of the earliest delivery dates (around 30 May). The promised delivery dates ran from mid-May to Aug with some not able to estimate. Most prices quoted were around MSRP for both van and accessories. The one I went with was below MSRP (around $700, which appears to be good for this area). I will post more details when I get the paperwork from the dealer. The LX model is not as plentiful (many dealers said they had EX's actually on the lot), but I did not want the EX primarily due to the power sliding doors. The Town Hall was extremely helpful in my quest and I thank everyone for sharing their experiences. I will try to keep the forum informed about my experience as well. | |
| So Far the best price I have found on a EX is $27,550 before destnation, license, and tax. Anyone know of a better deal in the S.F. Bay area? | |
|
