Tennessee Price for GG LX Odyssey by wantavan2

If it helps anyone, we bought a 2002 Granite Green Odyssey LX last week from Jim Miles Honda in Jackson, TN discounted $1,099.90 (that's $900 off MSRP plus waiver of the dealer's $199.90 fee). The dealer had a white LX in stock and did a dealer swap with another dealership in Arkansas that had the color we wanted (by the way, they put the van on a trailer to bring it to Tennessee... had only 15 miles on the vehicle when we took possesion). I think this is a decent price for this area, compared with what others are saying. Anyway, we love the van. Good luck to those still looking. I hope you can do even better!

It was the Beaverton Honda.

However, just faxing requests to other delearships I got two responses for MSRP also. One was in Salem, OR but the other was in WA, forgot the exact location, but it was like 40 miles north of PDX, shouldn't be hard to locate using Honda's website.

Kimwipes,

I've been to Beaverton Honda and they won't budge on their price of MSRP + 1,000. EXCEPT on their Canadian models. Are you sure you didn't get one of those? Their offer on the Canadian models was MSRP -200.

I wouldn't pay over 25,500 for a canadian model, considering that they are technically used vehicles with a warranty that requires a $50 deductible for each visit. They're asking you to take on a lot of risk. Plus, the Canadian models are $3,000 cheaper...their profit at Beaverton Honda has gotta astronomical!

Let me know if your deal was on an American model. I was able to get several offers at MSRP in OR & WA as well, but I'm not willing to pay that much for this vehicle. 11% profit margin for the dealer is a bit on the heavy side. Boggles me that so many people are willing to pay it, even considering how good the vehicle is.

All evidency points that I got an american model, car was sold as new in all documents, window sticker shows buffalo as port of entry, portland as destination, and I repeteadly asked about this, 5 miles. Anyway, maybe I'm a sucker, do you know of a denitive way of checking short of calling Honda?

Which dealer did you go to in Houston? Do you know what they're asking for EX-L leather?

OK, panic ensued. So I went searching on the net and found out my car is canadian built for the US market, so I'm OK.

Hope you get a good price. My deal was towards the end of the month, and they had the car coming in a few days, and they don't like Odys sitting idle in the lot.

Interior color choice help & DFW area prices by beye

I am currently living in Europe, but moving back to the Dallas/Ft Worth Texas area this summer, and I would like to order an EX-L/DVD and have it waiting for me (if possible) when I get back in late June. I have a few questions...

1. Can anyone give me any info on recent prices paid in the north Texas/southern Oklahoma area recently, and also any dealer recommendations? From what I've seen on this forum DFW dealers seem to be averaging about 500 below MSRP. Obviously I will have to work via email/fax/phone for the order.

2. Our previous van (Chrysler T&C) had a light beige interior that showed every kid spill easily - my wife therefore thinks a darker interior color would be better for hauling 3 young children around. The interior color is more important than exterior to her. I've only seen the colors in the Honda brochure on the internet - never on a real car. The quartz appears to be the darkest of the 3 choices, but I know the colors can look a lot different in the car than they do in a brochure displayed on a computer screen. Can anyone give me any feedback on interior color choices - is the Quartz in reality the darkest, and how does it and/or the Fern do with kids and their inevitable messes?

3. I've seen a lot of discussion here about dealer installed options - anyone know where to go on the web to get a look and description of what's available?

Thanks in advance for any help - I stumbled on this forum a few days ago and I can't believe how much I've already learned.

I found the fern interior to be a little darker than the quartz (especially in the leather). It was the primary reason I chose my color (granite green). Bought the grey Weathertech mats for it and they look great. Can't help you with dealerships - I'm north of you (WI).
