In all honesty, I tried to get a price match at another dealership closer to my house and was asked - not very politely - to leave. I closed my deal with Gentile from the parking lot of the other dealership. Any deal so offensive to another dealer that I am asked to leave is one I want to jump all over.   It was silver with a darker grey interior and had about 180 miles on it. It's a Touring, so it comes fairly loaded with the RES, Nav, heated leather, parking sensors, etc. I closed the deal so late I did not bother checking what else it came with. Even naked, it was very nice. I'll poke around more tonight.   I have nothing to complain about. This was about as good a car buying experience - from price to service to financing to quality of product - as any consumer can possibly ask for.

Sales tax goes up tomorrow (July 1). If you are close to pulling the trigger, tonight might be a good time to do it. I think the increase is 3/8 % so it would equate to about 100 on most of the Odysseys.

For those of you freaking out about the PAX tires, use the tires to your advantage. The dealers know the PAX tires are bad. Remind them of that. Remind them of the federal law suit. Remind them that you'll have to change tires in 2 years. Use that to drive a great bargain on the Touring with PAX.   Word is that the dealerships are having a hard time unloading the PAX equipped Touring models. It's apparently hard to convince people to pay MORE for something they DON'T want. Go figure.   Their loss. Your gain.... if you take advantage of the opportunity. Replying to: technoz (Jun 30, 2009 10:56 am) To punt the tires, rims and sensors, you're looking at $2500-3500. But the tires can last for a while if you take care of them. Get a deal on the car now and prepare for the change some years down the road.
