I'm pretty sure that the "Power sliding Doors - both sides" & "Rear view camera that appears in your rear view mirror" are standard on the model year 2008 Honda EX-L. I distinctly remember seeing these features on an 2008 EX-L we test drove and Edmunds confirms it.
Perhaps you are thinking of a lower trim level on the 2008's like the EX (doesn't include rearview camera in mirror but does have dual power slide doors) or the 2008 LX (which has neither power sliding doors or rearview camera).
Once again I think the only difference between a 2008 Odyssey EX-L (no RES/NAV) and a 2009 EX-L (no RES/NAV) are the VCM optimizations and power rear liftgate on the 2009.
#21725 of 30585 March 2009 Incentives

Has anyone seen/heard about March incentives for 2009 Odyssey? Will they remain unchanged ( ), go up ( ), go away ( )?

Good question. We've already had one poster state that the incentives for 2008 Honda Odysseys will not be changing which I think is really questionable. There are still quite a few 2008 Odysseys on the lots around here and the 2009s have been out for 5 months now. The delta between an equivalent 2008 and 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L model is $2-3k (on a roughly $30k vehicle) which is not exactly causing the 2008s to jump off the lots.
We'll see on the 2009 incentives I guess.

LOL, good to know!
"There are still quite a few 2008 Odysseys on the lots around here..."
There are just seven total Odysseys left in my five state area: Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa.
1 EX (ND)
0 EXL RES
2 EXL R&N (WI and ND)
3 Touring w/PAX (WI, ND and SD)
1 Touring no/PAX (WI)
Five states, seven TOTAL vehicles. That hardly seem like "quite a few" but maybe your area is different? Why don't you share with me where you're from and I'll be happy to search.

Sure thing, search on Autotrader for new 2008 Odysseys within 100 miles of zip 80241. How does it look?

Rather then rely on second hand inaccurate information from Auto Trader, I went right to my internal vehicle locater via Honda employee website. Also, rather then searching within 100 miles of Denver - I searched all of Colorado. There are 19 total 2008 Odyssey's in the whole state:
3 EXL RES
2 EXL R&N
0 Touring w/PAX
0 Touring no/PAX
This information is accurate as of last night when all RDR's have been repotrted to American Honda.
19 left is hardly a reason for Honda to increase the incentive.

First, my experience with looking for cars on autotrader was that the dealerships no longer had the cars in stock that were listed on autotrader. (I was looking at 08 Odysseys back in December).
Second, I doubt the 2008 incentives get any better. That being said, I fully expect 09 to get better. All indications are that our economy continues to lag plus you have the fact that the 2010 Odyssey is supposedly going to be a big change.
#21731 of 30585 Totally new redesigned Odyssey in 2010?why not wait?
Feb 27, 2009 (2:50 pm)
The Odyssey will be totally redesigned for 2010.So,folks who are buying now for the 09 models-- wouldn't it be better for them to wait till `2010 model arrives.B`cos when it arrives the resale values of 09 would go down relatively. And you would be buying pretty much a 05-09 generation odyssey.
Just MHO , thanks.
#21732 of 30585 Re: Quotes in St. Louis for 2009 EX-L [flyonwall1]
Feb 27, 2009 (3:20 pm)
That's similar with the quotes I've been getting as well for EX-L no nav and no DVD in the St. Louis area. So far, I've contacted 3 of the dealers in the area. I've gotten the following. For each they already factored the $670 destination charge in to the offer:
Offer 1 $27627 + $159 doc fee + $358 dealer installed options (pin stripes, splash guards) = $28144
Offer 2 $27704 + $149 doc fee + $374 dealer installed options (splash guards, door guards, cargo tray) = $28227
Offer 3 $27995 (includes dealer installed splash guards) + $189 doc fee = $28184
These are all the initial offers I got upfront when I contacted the dealers so I'm not sure if they'll go lower. Wondering if it's worth holding off to see what the March incentives will be.

Feb 27, 2009 (6:31 pm)
Thanks for the input.
I think we'll be going with the 09 because the deal just isnt good enough on the 08. The best price I have gotten on the EX-L (no res or nav) is $29,835.48 out the door.
Thats a price of 27265 + 599 (dealer fee) + 21 (tax/title/lemon) + 1950.48 (tax)
Two dealers have told me now that Odyssey supply is dwindling and they expect their incentives to be reduced in March. I hope they're not right because we can't buy until next week.
One person mentioned that the car is being redesigned for 2010. Is this a major overhaul? We keep our cars for a while so I doubt it will have a big effect on us down the road when we plan on selling it.
