Replying to: frechettegirl (Feb 10, 2009 3:48 pm) As far as dealing with the salesmen, don't be intimidated. When me and my husband went, I did all the negotiating and I just told them that I felt comfortable that I could get it for the price I offered them elsewhere if they didn't want to give it to me. I offered them 29,500, after going back and forth a couple of times. I didn't want to give them more than 29k, but my husband wanted to given in a little and told them we would do 500 more. I don't think we got a steal by any stretch, but I think 29,500 was very fair. Let me know if this helps... |

Hi all, I've been reading the past few month's posts and my head's swimming. Might I ask a little advice. I'm in the Wash DC area and looking for an EX. I don't want the leather, sunroof or RES. I'm going aftermarket for an Eclipse AVN in-dash Nav and Backup camera system for about $2000. I figure that I'm still saving about $4000 net over the EX-L RES NAV. I have assumed that the 2008s are all gone. I've received first offer e-mail quotes that seem good. Here's an example: 2009 Odyssey EX is $23,800.00 plus destination charge $670, processing fee $89, tax, and tags. What I don't understand is that's less than invoice of $26,601 less $2,250 rebate (which would be $24,351). So what's up? Are there more rebates that I'm missing? Are we now into holdback territory? If I understand it right, Honda has a 3% holdback on MSRP ($29,335) which is $880. So dealer net cost on an EX should be $23,471. I can't believe that I'm really getting offers that are within $400 of net dealer cost, so I'm wondering what's missing from my math. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
