I have spent the last 4 days wasting my time. I am looking for an 08 EX-L with RES (no nav). Nobody in Wisconsin has one, apparently, but that doesn't stop them all from telling me they do. This is what happens (it's like they circulate a manual telling them how to do this). I call, asking if they have any of these in stock. They say yes, why don't I come in and check it out. I say what color. They say they're not sure, can they call me back later, because they are so busy, or can I just come in. I ask them to call me back. They don't. Half a day later, I call back. They say they have a gray one. I'm so excited! I ask for a price quote. They say they'll have the internet person email me a quote. They don't. I call back several hours later. The internet person says they "were just emailing me right now" with the quote. I get the quote. It looks good. I say lets do the deal. I ask to confirm that it's gray. They go check. "oh shoot, that one sold". we do have a white one with the Nav package, would you be interested in that? I try not to swear at them. I got the same song and dance at 4 different dealers. So I gave up and bought a Routan with 0% financing for 72 months. I would've preferred the Odyssey, but I couldn't deal with that crap anymore.

Hello all, Here's is what I have on the table and would like to make the deal today so I can have it under the tree on the 25th. I'm in the Columbus Ohio area... EXL - $25,800 EXL - NAVI & RES - $28,360 I'm guessing I can shave another $300 off of each deal. So the question is, for a difference of $50/mo or $3500, do I go with the R&N or the base EXL? I'm hearing that the NAVI isn't a good value, but the wifey likes the look of it and thinks it might be useful. I'm ok with the base EXL, but it will be her car. The other consideration is the EXL has some dealer installed stuff on it like running boards. I don't want the running boards so they are taking them off. I'm concerned that once they are off, I now have new places for rust to form. What are your opinions? Thanks in advance! |

I do not believe they have to drill new holes for the running boards. But I would ask at the dealership or post something at this website.... http://www.odyclub.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=52 Happy Holidays! |

Replying to: hondaphan (Dec 22, 2008 8:29 pm) The demand is still high for '08's (people still see a good value) versus 2009's which at present, have no additional incentive from the factory. |

On the EX-L, it's a tiny part of the rearview mirror. The Navi screen is HUGE and much nicer than the comparatively tiny add-on screens you can buy. We've always had good luck getting upgrades for the Navi DVD every 3 years or so (updating more frequently is a waste of money, imo). It's also voice activated, something the add-on navis don't seem that great at. The Navi screen also doubles (triples?) as a screen for the XM radio that displays detailed information on the title, genre, station, etc and lets you easily adjust stereo parameters via the touch screen. And, then the Rear Entertainment system is a huge bonus if you have kids. We had factory navi in our 2000 odyssey and have used it EXTENSIVELY on trips, so it was a non-negotiable for the 2008 we just bought - we had to have it. I would completely go for the 2008 EX-L RES+NAVI. |

I have a quote for 27070 for an EXL with DVD but the dealer wants to put the all season mats on it ($210). I want them but I don't want to pay for them. Is that a good price and is it wrong for me to have them try to throw in the mats for free? They are not seeming to budge and I am scaed it will be gone as all the other ones have that have a DVD installed. Oh and the dealership is 100 miles away so time and money over the holidays is not money well spent. Any advise sure will help!

Well, I bought the EXL R&N today for $28,200 +TTL. I also got the 6 Yr/120,000 mile warranty for $1,100. Seemed like a decent price on the warranty so I went for it. Now I just have to find a way to sneak it into my driveway to surprise the wifey on Christmas morning! |
