Since it's been three months since I bought, I'll reveal that it was purchased from Mall of Georgia Honda. They still show 18 2008's on the lot.

Again, it was $25000 for an EXL inclusive of destination & the "processing fee". Only extras were tax, tag & lemon fees.

2008 EX-L RES+Navi in CA breakdown by hondaphan

I couldn't edit the initial post I made, so here's the post with the breakdown of the 2008 Odyssey EX-L RES+Navi we picked up this weekin Northern California. We got the price down to $29,059. Invoice was $36,445, our OTD price was $31,532. Here's the breakdown:

Base price $29,059
Tax $2110
Doc $55
DMV /license $308

OTD price $31,532

Very nice experience at Crown Motors in Redding on this sale. The internet staff is ace.

The *only* thing we don't like about the van so far is the armrests on the front seats. They're multi-position, but if you lift them up, you have to "re-find" the height you prefer. It's really annoying. Otherwise, the van's a huge upgrade from our 2000 Odyssey we bought new (and waited on a 6 month list back then!). They've added SO many features!

I am now in the 27000 price for an 08 Oddy with RES + tax. The only problem is that I have a trade in and the dealership is 100 miles away. There are just not many left in the Cincy area. Is is worth it to go that far to buy a car and then if the deal goes sour for some reason they have you there! Any thoughts?

Prepare to sell the trade-in yourself.

Here's another thing that you might try. Make your out-of-town deal on the new van and then supply the store with a highly accurate and objective description of your trade (include all optional equipment) and send them some high quality pics. They might be willing to give you a firm number subject to the vehicle matching your representation.

Whether it's down the street or 100 miles away, you must always be willing to walk away if the dealer tries to pull some crap.

I hate to do this because the one didn't do the job gets the business ... but you drive not far to get your trade-in look-at / offer.

Ask your nearest dealer(s) to match or beat the written quote offered by dealer 100 miles away.

Good advice there..

100 miles? That's an hour and a half..

Three hours of your time on a Saturday? I spend that much time looking at cars, just for sport..

New 08 Touring in Southwest by bigsmoky

Just purchased a new 2008 Ody Touring (no PAX). Price $33,750 plus $250 dealer add-ons (could not avoid) and $400 documentation (many dealers charged $350 for documentation) = $34,400 plus tax/title.
This model was difficult to find. By mid Dec, there were none left in CA and only a few on AZ.

We ended up purchasing from Right Honda in Scottsdale, AZ. Internet sales dept was very helpful.

There were few dealers who gave competitive quotes in our SoCal area.
Dealers who were helpful and had seemed to have good internet sales depts:
Galpin Honda
Honda of Corona
SanTan Honda

Incidentally, several 08 RES/NAVS were still available in SoCal and AZ. Quotes we received were $29,400 plus tax/title.
