Well.. you can extrapolate a purchase price from lease information, if you have all of the other variables... but, your example is missing way too many of them.

Given a $258 for 36 month lease through Honda with a MF of .00163 would equate to a $26700 sell price of this EX-L RES. Net cap cost is $25297 with $595 acq fee and $1998 down. If no more is due at signing that is really low because Honda is offering $1000 less dealer incentive when they finance compared to a cash sale. I could see paying up to $500 in BS to get this deal.

My question. If this was a third party lease you might get that sell price, but would you get 54% res and .00163 MF? I don't know.

Just got home after the purchase of an EXL with R & N. 30,500 out of the door, the only accessory I got was mud guards, the guy just wouldn't give me anything else. They also accepted my trade-in for 13500 (valued for 13,300 in good condition at KBB). They actually gave me 10 days to sell the vehicle on my own, all in all a pretty sweet deal I would say. I think the base + destination comes out to $29117. The experience over all was not bad either. This is in VA BTW.

Just bought an EX-L for 25,558 in the SF Bay Area. My advice is to form a buyers group. According to the finance guy, he would not have sold at this price had their been just one buyer.

These forums are great - hope my contribution helps.

20 miles is not a big deal. It could've been test driven once. A little dirty and in need of a wash. The only thing that would concern me just a tiny bit is whether there are any stains visible from the bird droppings after the wash. Certain bird droppings will etch in the paint, but that's not a normal thing. Shouldn't be, but just double check.

If it's been sitting on the lot for a while, that's probably what motivated the dealer to cut the price and sell it.

You did good. I was just offered 26k for ex-l with 80 miles on it. Didn't pull the trigger, b/c I realize there are better deals out there. But the 80 miles didn't phase me - it was a dealer trade.

If you want to know how long its been sitting on the lot, take a look at the door jamb. There's a decal there that has the production date on it (month and year).

WOW great deal.

The best I could do OTD was $32,200 with a Fairfax dealer.

I think Base was $28,519. But they added on $495 for appearance and $385 for doc fees. (I'm registering in MD so tax is higher 6%)

Yeah, the sales rep, even till the last moment, seemed a bit shell shocked. His final words before departing were, 'you did good, my friend, you did real good'. I mean, I don't think it's a crazy deal but I called up at least 4 other dealers and no one would even touch it.

Is 25,558 OTD , or before Tax and Tag price ?

the best quote so far in VA area for EX_L with RES: is
Your Price: $27611.87

Freight: $670.00

Processing Fee: $399.00

VA Tax (3.17%): $909.18
Tag and Title Fee: $75.50

Out the Door: $29665.55

in another mail she said , she will give $500 off of the quote and appearance package which include Mud guards, wheel locks, door edge guards, fender well trim & pin stripe
So Final OTD will Be 29165.55

is it good price or still we can bargain for less?

Check if it is $500 off the appearance package or if it is removing the appearance package from the deal. In my case, it was the latter. I still got the mud guards though.

Is it me or does the appearance package seem like to total ripoff? you can get that stuff from internet dealers (official honda accessories), for half the price and install it yourself (except pinstriping).

They still pinstripe? Isn't that a dealer ripoff addon from the 80's?

I'm going tonight to sign papers for a Honda Odyssey EX w/RES for 26,289. After tax and title/license it will be 28,851. What do you think about that is it a good deal or should I try to talk them down a little. The RES is going to be put in the headrest. Let me know what everyone thinks.
