Has anyone tried to buy their ody through them. In my region, they seem to be offering reasonable good prices ($26.2 for EXL). I'm thinking then that its possible to better on my own. Thoughts?

I agree that it's more cost effective to get the aftermarket DVD & portable navigation. But my wife like the way the interior look with the factory installed nav & there is no option of getting nav without dvd so I guess we're paying extra for the "look" of it. Seems a bit ridiculous when you think about it but whatever the lady want she gets. BTW I just got a quote from a local dealership in socal for $32,200 OTD.

Fair Price for the EX-L with R and N? by warybuyer

After extensive reading here, I'm looking to offer $29,087 for a 2008 EX-L with R and N. Here's my reasoning based on some advice offered:

Dealer Inv.: $31,661.
Minus 3% MSRP: $-1,074.
Minus Dealer Incentive: $-1,500.
Bottom line = $29,087.
(Plus tax, title, and reg)

The dealership has 31 Odysseys and 6 of them are the EX-L with R and N which seems like a pretty high inventory to me. They have no 2009's (which I am guessing is due to that high 2008 inventory).

Can anyone tell me if the numbers seem to be a reasonable offer?

Thanks!!

I am in MA and this looks to very good. I have quotes form dealers, which say they are not ahppy about it but will be $29,000 - $29,073 for 2008 EX-L with R and N. This includes destination but not tax, title, registration. They also wack you $259-$299 for document preparation - that is a complet rip off but considering you are below invoice apparently the only way for them to make some $ back.

I also asked and apprently floor mats are now included. In 2000 I think they were charging $160.

Your calculation are very on though as several of the folks did not want to match the $29,000 and said $29,073 is the number they could do because of their calculation, now I know where that came from.

It still amazes me is that it sound like they sell cars for less than they paid. I am trying to understand all this, but at the end of the day I just want the lowest price for my new vehicle and should nto worry about them.

I am hoping to make my purchase today.

Converting advertised lease price to purchase price by airoops

Boch in MA is advertising every EX-L with RES in stock with a MSRP of $34.4k for $258/mo for 36 mo's with 1998 down and a 54% residual. Price does not include Tax Title and Reg (assumes includes destination).

If you follow my math:

Total lease payments are $9,288 (258*36)
Down payment is $1,998
Total lease payment $11,287 (which should equal 46% of the price)
Lease b/o should then be $13,250 (Lease payments of $11,287 * (54%/46%)
So total purchase price s/b $24,537

Can anyone think of what else I'm missing here? This doesnt factor in lease fees which they could use to bump up the price. The only other thing I could think of is that this assumes a zero interest rate embedded in the lease, but if the interest rate was 2 or 3%, that would only lower the lease payments going against the cap cost, and thus lower the purchase price.

TIA for any thought and if anyone has dealt with Boch recently.

I am interested to hear the details. Did the $23400 include destination plus dealer fees, prep, etc.? I have a quote from a NJ dealer for about 24K for the EX, which includes destination, doc fees, and dealer prep. (the only extras would be tax & title). Trying to decide if I can squeeze a few more hundred out of the transaction.

Any thoughts?
