30,909 seems quite high. Where I am (FL) they are going for under 29,000. Good luck.

I think we have a salesman in this forum.

Anyways, people are here to make informed decisions. It's up to the dealer to sell or not sell to make their quota. If a salesman asked me how much profit that I want the dealer to make I would answer them honestly "nothing" so don't ask. That's my 2 cents.

Just purchased this afternoon a Nimbus Gray EXL with RES for $30,500 OTD in Tampa Florida, from Kuhn Honda. Couldn't have gone any smoother. Local Hondaland couldn't come within $1,000 of this price and doubted that it was possible. Drove it home today. Very happy, and thank you all on this forum!! No trade involved, just said this was the price others were getting. As long as you are willing to wait or walk, these prices can be had.

dfwbuyer2,

I bought a white EXL with NAV and RES from Honda Cars of McKinney.

Here is the details

MRSP $36455.00
Dealer add on made the total $38955.00
( add-ons were window tint, wheel locks, paint sealant, fabric guard on the carpet, mudflaps)
Offered: $31000.00
Total out the door: $32982.30

I also was able to get the 0.9% for 36 months.

I used the spreadsheet from www.carbuyingtips.com to calculate my offer. The most I planned to offer was $31215 but they accepted 31000. I calculated all their add-ons to be worth $269.

You may want to try John Eagle Honda in Dallas, I dont think they put many add-ons. I had planned on trying them next but Honda of Mckinney accepted my offer.

I appreciate that. Can I buy stuff from your work at your cost leaving you no profit?

It's a numbers game and if a dealer has to sell at/or below cost than that item becomes a lost leader. However, dealers will make up this profit from other shoppers that do not do their research and homework very easily so it all balances out at the end.

Hope this helps somebody! I used this forum to negotiate -- thanks guys! Just bought EX-L a few days ago for $26800. OTD $29321. Dealer threw in free window tints and first service.I think it was a fair deal -- maybe could have gotten it for a few hundred bucks cheaper but i think it was fair enough.

what can I say, ? different ball game . I was a surprise.
We negotiate for a couple week after find the best price in miami 30000 ,EXL w/res and navi ( I think really good deal) . Lease $3495 out of pocket and $338 w/tax a month . salesman was perfect no problem , no hiding fee nothing estrange . I know my fico 760 suppose to be tier 1 but........... honda use transunion something like classic 04 and They said my score was 689 and they need to adjust my payment , I don't know is true because I spoke with another dealer and he told me , they can boom the score , they want more money for you . and I told the guys sorry there is no more money, that is all take or leave and i leave without the van .
Thanks this forum because you help me a lot to lower the price but I need a credit forum to understand the financiall rep because I just know there is a 6 diferents scores not 3 to buy a car .
thanks all
alex
