FYI, this afternoon I received this quote from Curry Honda in Atlanta using the donkey punch method for the EX-L with RES:

$27,211 vehicle price
$635 freight
$487 doc fee
$1,983.31 DeKalb County 7% sales tax
$21 title/Ga Lemon Law
___________________________________
$30,337.31 Out The Door cost

It's the best price I've gotten so far. My goal is to get it for $30K even OTD. We'll see ....

Consumer Reports Bottom Line Pricing by Andyboy1974

Accurate as of 5/29/08. CR is not showing current dealer incentives, so bottom line may be up to $2000 less. Only $1000 less if you go with special APR. Negotiate up from bottom line, which is true dealer cost. Beware of BS "dealer fees" especially in South Florida, and add-on costs for pinstriping, mud flaps or anything not listed on the factory window sticker. Sometimes dealers attach their own "window sticker" next to the existing window sticker, with special "package" add-ons. This is BS. There are so many Odysseys out there right now, so negotiate hard and don't get ripped. Always be willing to walk out the door, no matter how long you've sat there and no matter how many times the sales manager has tried to work out a deal. You have no moral obligation to buy.

LX
Invoice w dest. 24063
Holdback (776)
Bottom line 23287 (may be as low as 21287)

EX
Invoice w dest. 26864
Holdback (869)
Bottom line 25995 (may be as low as 23995)

EX-L
Invoice w dest. 29801
Holdback (966)
Bottom line 28835 (may be as low as 26835)

Don't waste your money on RES or NAV. Honda GPS is horrible. Buy a Garmin. Get DVD installed from Best Buy. Skip anything above basic EX-L. EX-L with RES or NAV and Touring models are for flamers. Also skip PAX tires, which make for a harder ride and cost a fortune to replace. Instead spend 10 minutes teaching your wife how to change a flat.

Got a 2008 Odyssey EX-L (No RES, No NAV)

Final OTD: $29,123.88 (Included Tax and Doc/Title Fee) With 0.9% AHFC for 36 Months

My Tax Rate is 7.25% and Doc/Title Fee is $265

People, when asking if the price is good or not, please indicates if the special APR is included or not - because that is $1000+ differece, if you include the tax.

Dealership is a business after all. They need to make SOME profit... I am not saying to give your money away, but an acceptable amount of profit should give to dealership...

What you guys think?

Looks like you paid about $26,908. Plus tax = $28859. Plus $265 doc fee = $29124. With the special APR, the lowest the dealer should've charged you is $27835 plus tax and doc fee. Looks like you got close to the price offered for paying cash (no special APR). Do you have a itemized breakdown of charges you can show us? Or did you put money down?

I let the sales manager worry about his profit.. I certainly wouldn't build any of it into my offer, or worry about them going out of business.. The dealer has complete control over what price they are willing to sell.. If they deal isn't good enough, they won't do it..

My job is to buy as cheaply as possible.. I assume that the dealer and me both want the same thing.... for me to purchase a car... the only variable is the price. Lower is better..

I got delivery of Ex in northern va yesterday for a price of 25800. This is the OTD price and also made the dealer buy down the special rate to 0%. So no interest which is what I wanted. so 36 months 0% 25800 with the dealer accesssories like pinstrips, wheel locks and mug guards also thrown in at no cost.
