Contacted about 15 dealers in OK and N.Texas. Nobody can beat $29,100 OTD (exclude T&T) so far. Is this a good deal? Please comment. Here's one message I got from dealer in TX when I told him to beat $29,100 OTD. "Please consider this, invoice is $31,247 (verify at edmunds.com), minus $2K dealer cash (which is the dealership's incentive, not the consumers but we will give it anyway), equals $29,247. And that is provided I will sell one at invoice. You can also verify invoice with Consumer Reports. I will entertain any reasonable offer over invoice less the $2K dealer cash if I have your color choice in stock. Our cars have no hail damage, no added equipment that you must buy and no demo miles. If I had a damaged unit or a demonstration model or wasn't selling any Hondas, I would consider going below invoice too. Thanks again for checking with us. | We finally got our 08 Odyssey and it's awesome. The side mirrors are suppose to slightly tilt when the van is on reverse. My question is, will the tilt be an obvious one or so slight that it barely looks like it does anything? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks! | |
God, these guys are vultures.  I got an email this morning from the guy at Ourisman in Bethesda. This is the guy who could never give me a straight quote. Ok. If you haven't bought the car yet, my last offer is that I will beat any offer you have by $100 up to $500. I am done messing around. As someone said, average prices being paid are around $30k so I feel I'm getting a good deal. I don't trust that this guy can beat $30k. I'm just going to ignore him and be done with it this weekend when I sign the papers. Interesting note at the bottom of Criswell's emails: As an internet customer, you are entitled to know exactly what to expect before visiting any showroom. You should exercise caution if you should receive quotations over the internet or by phone that do not indicate everything in writing. Many dealers will quote a seemingly lower price or an "out-the-door" price with the intention of luring you into the showroom and then surprise you with additional taxes and tag fees, pre-installed accessories and/or additional dealer mark-up when you arrive to purchase the vehicle. If you should fall prey to deceptive sales practices, please do not reward the dishonest dealer by allowing them to re-negotiate for your business... This only serves to confirm the success of deceptive sales practices over the internet making it more difficult for honest people to make a living. That's exactly what happened to me at Coleman and I didn't even realize it initially. That guy had told me there might be a couple hundred dollars worth of installed accessories on the car in stock and it ended up amounting to over $800 worth!
