Replying to: cccompson (Jan 13, 2008 10:18 am) anyway, his initial quote was 26,100 (which I know is good)... we haven't gone back and forth at all... I was thinking of asking him if he could beat a certain price (but not sure what I should say)... ideally I would love to say 24,900, but that is probablly too low???? Although it does look like there have been a few to get in the 24K ballpark. what number do you think I should throw back at him... in a past e-mail (before he said he was out)... I did say... I have other dealers right there is this your lowest bid and he said As for the number, what number do I need to earn your business? (I'm about out of gas, but might be able to get a few more bucks.) So, help me... please! My husband and I are trying to decide and I think we need to decide quick before they are gone. Also, would it be better for them if we paid cash... would the number be lower or does it not matter... and if we don't pay cash... who has the best rates right now? Thanks! |

Replying to: murmal (Jan 13, 2008 12:05 am) I am also in market for an '08 Ody Touring no PAX in Virginia. Could you please list by line item how your OTD price was calculated (ie, car price, freight, TTL, processing fee, etc). I'm trying to figure out if using Costco might make sense... Thanks! -E.

I recently completed a four day email campaign and took home a Black/Ivory 08 Touring (no PAX) for $34,800 base incl. dest., less trade, plus doc, tax, & lic. My Black Beauty was purchased at Honda of Lisle (IL). I received nine responses with prices from 10 dealers and the top five were within $345 of each other. Honda of Lisle -- my preferred local dealer -- was very responsive and dropped their price slightly to be lowest. Other than me forgetting my registration and 08 sticker for my plates at home, all went very smoothly. The Internet sales person was ready when I arrived with a copy of the email offer in hand. (Note that most of the dealers had reflected the current $1,000 marketing support incentive in their quoted prices.) Now I'll have to spend some time figuring out how to make everything work. It's certainly a step or 20 beyond my '96 T&C! THANKS to donkeypunch1 and many others on the forum for the helpful advice that made this purchase close to painless.

Replying to: lissa5688 (Jan 13, 2008 7:31 pm) I heard of $25,500 recently (in this remaining low 07 supply market). If I were the dealer I would not sell for less than 26,100 since supply is low and some one out there will buy it. Assuming Honda doesn't discount the '08 to '07 levels. I recently turn down $26,100 and was told I qualified for 2.9% honda financing. The reason I turn it down was they only offered $16,500 to trade in my '05 EXL w/ 44,000 miles (36 months old). I wanted a minimum of $18500. If a trade was not involved I don't think I would of gotten much more off the price here in Ohio. Don't forget to state to the dealer that you are buying a one year old van. |
