Friends, Put down your price guides and take a step back. I personally don't care what the "market value" is of a used car; the question is: Does it make sense for me to buy it for that price? A used car or van with N miles for just a few thousand $ less than I can buy a new one for? One-year-old Accords for $1500 less, 3-year-old Odysseys for $4k less? That's crazy. Buy the silly thing new, enjoy the warranty and the peace of mind that comes with knowing it hasn't been abused. I agree that these are very well put-together automobiles, but they don't walk on water, and they generally are not worth the prices that they fetch used. A friend of mine bought a well-kept, 9-year-old Camry w/ 70k miles for $5k. That was a good price, as the market goes. Two years and $1600 in maintenance-type repairs later, he's not so sure it was a good idea... -Mathias in Mid-Michigan |

| brother has an 86 toyota p/up...bought new for 10,200..275,000 miles later and no ...Thats NO repairs later he still has it..doesnt burn oil or smoke and runs perfectly...so there are WELL made and if you just change the oil regularly it will take care of you | |
| I'm living Portland, Oregon area. I'm looking for a white '02 EXL Odyssey but could not find any dealers in the Oregon that has the car. Please give me some suggestions anyone. | |

hungyen-I'm having the same problem. St John's had one with Navi and some other options on Friday, but it was silver. Most dealers in your area will have a modest mark-up on the car. I'm almost at the point of recommending having one shipped from Southern California. |

I guess that I missed the post by Barry5 before it was deleted. I take it that they had some Odys on the lot. It will be nice when the supply catches up with the demand. I have never had an Ody on the lot for a customer to test drive and buy. Supposedly, this Spring it will happen when the AL plant is cranked up to full speed. I have been told by our rep that Honda will watch the supply carefully, like they do the Civic and Accords. Theyaork on a 30 day and 60 day supply respectively. Jerry Jerry |

iirc, "some" meant two. Some demos to test would be nice - I'm still somewhat surprised I got to drive a '99 LX twice back in Dec. 98 when I was van shopping. Steve Host Vans, SUVs and Aftermarket & Accessories Message Boards |
