What the... by mfletou1

Ok, what's up with the "market adjustments" tacked onto to Odys in the DC area? Absurd. We've looked at a few--haven't really tried to get prices yet--and most of the Ody's we've seen have $999 "market adjustments" tacked on next to the window sticker.

How ridiculous. Chance that I'm going to pay a market adjustment? Zero.

I think they all try it one dollar, or another. I looked at couple in the Tampa Bay area and they had "Fair Market Adjustment" of $1500-2500! It is absurd. How is it "Fair"?

Right...well frankly my inclination, in response, is to not even bother shopping dealers that try that. Chances are, they aren't trustworthy and even if they get you in with a good price, at some point in the process you'll get screwed.

I really, really wish Fitzgerald sold Honda's. That's about all I can say.

You should absolutely pay market adjustment--a downward adjustment to $2000 below invoice. The 2008s are stacked in the factory lots waiting for the 2007s to be sold down.

I got LX (base) model yesterday for 22,900 Out The Door.

This is the best price I got so far.

Better luck to you all.

Note: I communicated with one of the Dealer in Chicagoland area for 3 days. I requested him LX with Numbus Grey Metallic color. We finalized the Deal for 22,700 bucks Out The Door price. Once everything is done. This Guy says he has no Odyssey with that color. When I called him and talked to him, he said "I can't help" and just hanged up on me.

I posted again moments later after the dealer immediately sent me a second email correcting her price - $30K+. I was shocked too, but I thought that perhaps Honda had instituted a bigger incentive to sweep the lots clean right after anouncing the '08's for sale.

Currently my local dealers (NCY) aren't blowing me away with prices, so I'll either wait it out and see if that changes at the end of the month, or buy an '08. There are still plenty of vehicles on the lot - one local dealer has been carrying over 120 Odysseys for the last two months. That's a big number to move by the end of the year.

2007 Odyssey EX -L (No Res & No Nav) in Bama by rolltide1

I am now in search for 2007 Odyssey EX -L (No Res & No Nav).
I contacted one dealer in AL and he said that Base price for EX-L ODYSSEY is $26150.50 and total OTD is $27850.82.
In the OTD, there are some fees, like "antitheft insurance transfer" ($299) and "documentation fee" ($499).

I still don't understand that what these fees are for????
I believe that the total OTD is not bad, but I still feel I am being ripped off. Do you guys think that I should negotiate these fees and get more discount on the car?

Those fees are merely additional dealer profit. If you can get rid of 'em, you'll have a fair price.

Just tell them you'll pay 26150+ tax and maybe a $99 doc fee. That's it. The rest is pure dealer profit and is bs. This is very common practice for dealers.
