Replying to: cargirl9 (Sep 17, 2007 9:55 pm) Someone here claims to have bought an ex-l no res no nav from hennessey honda over labor day weekend. the internet person said she must have been a 4% sales tax county b/c there's no other way they could do that. Anyway, I emailed a bunch more last night with an otd of 27.8 and already have 3 emails for juuuust under that. 27.75k or so all w/in a few dollars of each other. K

Replying to: phank (Sep 19, 2007 6:50 am) those shouldn't be considered options....they'll give them to you if you ask usually. 26750 for base of *just* an EX is high imo. i'm getting my ex-l base at about 25,700, no destination just TTL, 5.99% from usaa. it should be about 2k less for an ex with cloth. Yesterday, I purchased an EX-L, no RES, no NAV for 26,330 (incl destination) + $90 in doc fees + TTL from a dealer in Iowa. The OTD price was $28,100. With a few modifications, I basically followed the advice by Donkeypunch1 (thank you!), post # 16303.

There were not dates on his quote or anything. Another dealer said there was no way they could do it. Hmmm... Anyway, talking to another dealer already. Hoping they will match - but at this point I would take 28 OTD (we are 7.75% so that changes things...) with access included.

Let him know you're coming in today (ifyou are) but you just wanted to confirm the deal before driving over. Tell him, the base, then add on *specifically*, the taxes, title and fees for your area for a grand OTD price of 'x'. If so, then you're set. If not, then tell him, hmmm, I thought that was too good to be true, Ask him is he could email you the best base they can do, and detail all other fees, noting and guaranteeing and OTD number. Ii bet he thought he could slip dest&doc fees in there to makeup the grand. I just wasn't seeing how they could do 25,500. I can't find anyone that has gotten that when i've board searched. How many dealers are you talking too? Yesterday, when i went too low (probably b/c i was comparing a 4% sales tax price to my 7% sales tax) and pissed ppl off, i just went to the honda website and sent out a bunch more quote requests to another 13 dealers. There have to be a *ton* where you are. My email last night said this: We're ready to pull the trigger on a new 2007 Odyssey. White with tan/ivory leather. tFinancing is set. No trade in. I'd like to be at 27,800 OTD (including every imaginable fee and tax as well as including the carpet mats, the mud guards and the cargo liner). I'm looking for the most competitive compelling quote that beats, gets to, or is closest to the target and will call immediately with a deposit to hold the vehicle - coming in later in the day to sign the papers. Please email 1)the very best price you can do 2)confirmation that you have the white ex-l in stock I heard back at quarter to 8 from the guy who got the deal. He came in $40 lower than my other person from the first slew of emails. i called him right away, said let's go, please confirm in a new email that you have the white ex-l 2007 ody in stock and that your otd price is 'x' and please breakdown each fee. He responded with that and the stock and VIN. Then as I was getting a million other responses, all much higher, more in line with my first set of numbers. I just quickly shot them emails saying "we've already pulled the trigger at 27,792......however, if something doesn't work out, we'll let you know". Four ppl emailed back saying they would match, two of them requesting the written email (i gave it to them), one beating the 27.792 price by $70 Do you have a larger pool of dealers you can pull from? In my first slew of emails, i wrote back and made the mistake of going so low that literally no one responded, except two of them out of frustration saying that NO WAY could they go lower than they already did, and that if i had that deal (27315) I should take it b/c the dealership was paying me to take it away. It was then that I started a new pool with the 27.8 number. I think it would be reasonable to shoot off a quick email to 10 dealers in your area saying what I said above...you're "ready to move today, trying to get to 27,800 or as close as possible...we'll call immediately with a deposit for 1)the most competitive compelling quote that can detail base, all fees, TTL and give you a clear guaranteed OTD number. and 2)has 'x' color in stock. Let me know if you'd like to sell a car today. Hope to work with you soon." someone will come back with something good:) K here were my original otd numbers (atlanta, ga or metro area 7% sales tax) 27,946. willet (stated cargo, muds, wheel locks, mats from first email 28.0something curry 28,071 hennesy (they responded with frustration to my 2nd email asking them to come down) 28,645 edvoyles a few in between here......gwinnet was one....they were irritated also that I wanted to come down. 29,130 conyers (they actually emailed me during this am's deal...i told them it was done, they did price match. they're closer but i wanted to honor the deal) 29,639 albany 29,874 carey paul 29,550 nalley (first time i heard from them) 30,085 nalley (second time i heard from them)

Replying to: cillakat (Sep 19, 2007 10:25 am) I've sent the request out to over 30 dealers (between last and this time). Ugh. My contact at the place we are trying to deal with isn't in yet so we'll see what they can do when they come in. You would think we would have a better market here - So Cal - but apparently we have a bunch of yahoos who pay whatever. Lucky you!! You have it done!! what happened to the '06 Navi idea?
