I can tell you to stay AWAY from Burns Honda in Marlton, unless you want to deal with bush-league bait-and-switch. Piazza Honda (Philadelphia) might be willing to get close, and they were anxious for a price-match to begin negotiation. I used them in 04 for my Pilot, and had a terrific rep (Greg Martucci). He was able to come down, but could only get beige at the price I wanted. I got a fast response and fair price from Mark Vega (Sloane Honda). He did get close, and I would recommend him. Stroudsburg Honda (Ray Price) came down, but hit a wall $500 above where I wanted to be. Willis Honda (Burlington, NJ) is where I ended up. Although they did not help a friend of mine who is leasing a car through them - when he was stuck in Mt. Laurel, NJ (He just needed the number of the nearest Honda garage -- claimed they didn't have that information - total low class at that instance, but internet sales is good. I got an EXL with RES/NAVI, so my numbers wouldn't really be apples to apples with what you want. Cheers!

$28,350 (incl. Dest) was for a EX-L+RES+NAV in Chicago area? Any suggestions on good Chicago area dealers? Appreciate your help. Thanks

2007 EXL w/ NAV and RES -- $29,795 at Honda Santa Ana by manman

Hello:
I pressed the request a quote button on the edmunds web site and got an email back from Honda of Santa Ana.

They are offering the EXL with NAV, RES for $29,795 plus Tax and Title. The email said the list price was $35,490.
When I called to see if they had the color I wanted; not only they didn't have the color, they were rude, and couldn't wait for me to get off the phone!

Can anyone verify if this is a good enough price for this model in the OC, SoCal area? I'm not in a rush to buy, would it be wise to wait it out a couple more months?

Thanks for the help!!

Donkeypunch1,

Dude your email was a few hrs short for me. It is the best written internet buying advice I have found so far.

I live in Alpharetta, GA. Just got an EX-L with DVD and Navigation today 9/3. Had earlier negotiated for a plain EX-L for 25,693 (incl destination) + TTL. But could not find the right interior color today. Got a demo for the Navigation and considered that too.
Got a price of 29,293 (incl destination + splash guards, cargo tray) for EX-L + Nav + RES with the needed color - Slate Green with Olive interior. Basically caved in as I had not negotiated for it earlier (Misstep on your point 15). Also got an okay finance for 5.99% from Honda.
The sales guy, Matt was very good at the Hennssey Honda dealership in Woodstock, GA, but did not budge from the quoted price. Also had to pay $65 for wheel locks.

In retrospect, could have got a better deal, if I had not gone in, but negotiated online for price and accessories beforehand for this model.
And BTW just noticed that the finance guy lowered the rates from 6.79% to 5.99% in 3 steps without clicking or checking anything. So I presume there is a lot of room there that I did not squeeze (the dealership was closed and it was already 6.30 p.m).

Also took the 7 yr , 75,000 miles warranty for $1060.

Final drive out price was $31,903 (with $1000 trade-in, 7% sales tax.). So from your mail it feels like I got $1000 more on the price and could have saved more on the finance (1% ~ $1000).
Gotta live with it

Hello,

Do you have any idea if they have another promotion going on after 9/4? Dealers say there will be no more promotion after today which I can't believe.

Getting a good price on an EX-L in Sacramento Area by jli1

Just purchase a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L from Autowest Roseville AutoMall Honda in Roseville, California.
Internet Manager : Warren Wicke

Very good experience using Edmunds.com and Autowest beat other dealer price on 2nd tried. 1st offer is reasonable.

got it for : $26245 (including DEST) + TTL & fully financed 60 months 4.99 APR (must be a good rating on your credit score)
color: Silver exterior and Gray interior.
Miles: 000008 was 000006 before test drive

I would recommend everyone go there. NO hassle on purchase.
Tell him that Johnson from Sacramento referred you.

Area dealer (scale 1 to 5 with 1 is the worst and 1 is the best):

Autowest Roseville AutoMall Honda - 4.5 - 1st quote was good and 2nd quote beat the rest, no pushing for Accessories,or any warranty (but the warranty is a little pricey in my mind as I knew the price) but got 60 days to cancel if I back out, no hassle, and no pressure.

Vacaville HONDA - 4.0 - fast quote with very good price,

University Honda at Davis - 3.5 - decent quote and willing to match on 2nd times.

Mel Rapton Honda - 1.1 - request quick quote thru internet manager on Friday 8/31/2007, email to New Cars Manager, and no one reply until 09/04/2007 after 6 PM. talk about QUICK quote. 0.1 point was added because it replies to my request but it was very very late. Expecting us to buy whatever left over during the sale?? that is no way to treat a RETURN customer - bought a 2001 honda there before.

Elk Grove Honda - 3.0 - quickest phone call after I submited for quick quote (less than 1 hr), quote me an EX model at the beginning of the conversation ( I dont know that is intentionally to bring me in or not) but later correct to EX-L model after I said that is a rediculously low for an EX-L model. Obviously I dont belive what he is saying earlier. but he did offer an not a decent quote and pledge it will match or beat plus extra service. After I forward the best written quote to them, did not hear and ding nor a dong. Nothing at all except an email for service survey.

anybody needs more question just let me know.. will share my NO HASSLE experience

From the news this afternoon:
American Honda said Tuesday that total sales in August rose 4.7% to 158,342 vehicles from 151,253, in the same month last year. Car sales increased 11.7% to 91,448 from 81,868, while truck sales fell 3.6% to 66,894 from 69,385, the automaker said. Honda division sales totaled 141,906 in August, up 6.7% from 132,990, a year ago. Sales at the Acura division fell 10% to 16,436, from 18,263 last year, Honda said.

This probably means no more new rebates.

different people's experience with different dealership are all different. I had a horrible experience with Autoport Honda in Bridgewater NJ. But someone recommended it not long ago. So that someone was treated well somewhere does not guarantee another person is going to get same treatment there, and vis a versa.
