bayern507,

We lost out on on the incentive. I was trying to find a dealer around hear selling for around $1500 below invoice but had no luck. The Sienna is looking better now. We have also thought about a Hyundai though, from their message boards, it seems they don't have as good of service with their warranty.

Hope you like your new van!

I didn't get one, either. A few complications arose, and by the time I could get home, it was too late to pick one up last night. I had a fall-back plan, but that too seems to have fallen through, although there might still be some hope (but I won't find out til tomorrow).

I've looked at the Hyundai too, and while there are many things appealing about it, I'd pay the extra for the Odyssey or the Sienna. One other consideration, the 08 Highlander should start showing up in show rooms in about 2 weeks. Supposed to have a decent 3rd row, with access through a pass through in 2nd row. Haven't tried it myself though (it was up on a platform at the Chicago Auto Show).

Well, my husband and I took your advice, but the Honda place in Muncie did not accept my husband's offer so he walked. He also went back later that day and made an offer on a LX for $22,000 and it was not accepted so he walked. The final result was we bought a 2007 Hyundai Entourage SE (I know some are you are groaning!!). I made the whole offer by phone, got an email confirmation of details and my husband drove to Richmond Hyundai and bought it last night. Great experience - enjoyed this chat room (my first one ever) and the great advice from rickindallas and several others. You helped us be bold and with GOD's favor we got a really awesome van with a wonderful warranty. Bye.

I found the Entourage SE cloth interior to be the nicest cloth of the minivans I looked at. Lots of great features too (hope you got the premium package with the heated seats / homelink/ backup sensors - after specing out the price to pay for Odyssey backup sensors ($900) that's another deal).

Enjoy.

One other option: the Pilot. Today, Honda jacked the incentives on the 07 Pilot up to $3500. Move fast though: there aren't many 07s still on the lots (08s have been coming in for a little while). Where I am (I just called around), invoice after the incentive is a pretty good deal as it is (maybe $100 or 200 lower is possible). Good luck.

How is this quote??? by smarnie

I was at a dealership yesterday looking at an 07 Odyssey EXL. The MSRP was 33960. I was looking for a great deal and wanted to get OTD at around $28,000. The Invoice was 29463 and Honda had $1000.00 dealer incentive. They came back to me at 28463 +TTT. That put me at around $31,350. I was going to walk out and they came back to me with an OTD price of $30,000. After reading some of the post, it seems to me that they gave me a very good deal.

Based on my math:
Invoice $29,463
Incentive $1,000
Destination $551
Tax $1707
Hold Back $884

Dealer Cost $27028.00
My Tax $1659
Destination $551
Tag/Title $150

My Cost $ 30,000.
My Calculation Dealer selling me the vehicle at $27,650

A Dealer Profit of $612.00

Any Comments or advise?

Are you looking at 2007 Odyssey without Navi or DVD?
Hmmm...

In that case, MSRP before destination should be $31690 and Invoice before destination should be $28159. And hold back should be $932 (3% of MSRP before destination).

Therefore, the dealer cost should be $26778...
BTW, your dealer has $1,000 cash incentive to dealer? I thought some dealers had $750 incentive until 7/5 and it ended??? Where is your dealer located?

I am also looking at 2007 Honda Odyssey withouth a Navi or DVD and the best offer I got was $28850 ($100 over the invoice)... He said there is no marketing promotion from the manufacturer for them (I am living in a small town)... Assuming he is honest, his cost should be $27778 (w/$1000 incentive) and $28850 gets him just about $1,000...

However, the trade in value for my 2002 Honda CRV LX AWD with 75000 miles was fairly good,, $9500.

Yes, I was looking at a 2007 EXL Odyssey without Navi or DVD.

The dealership was Hennessy Honda in Woodstock, GA.

Thanks for the info and good luck!

Hello. I live in Pittsburgh,PA area and on June 28 got EX-L with no DVD/Nav for $28,300. No other dealer in the area could offer me the same or lower price. I had the greatest experiance with sales rep. If you are interested check Washington Honda in PA. Good luck.

Folks - All your posts were a great help. Thank you for taking the time.

Just purchased an '07 Odyssey - Black, EX-L RES for $29,450 (+ trade-in at $250 below CarMax quote) at Rorhman Group Schaumburg Honda, Illinois. I would never recommend the dealership. Dealer prep on the van was pathetic (on delivery, dvd screen fuse wasn't put in and they sent me to service that took 3hrs!!! The roof cross rails took a week to deliver, then they installed the wrong ones and scratched the roof) These guys are useless but use them to negotiate to your benefit.

Great van, have been using it for 3 weeks now. Too bad the dealership is so poorly run.
