Odyssey EX-L $30,055 OTD (Planet Honda, NJ) by ody07

Here is what I paid yesterday for my new EX-L. I believe it is a good deal...only dealer did it...rest refused to even come close to that.

Price (inc dest.) = $27,500
Doc = 289.00
Tax (7%) = 1945.20
License etc. (4 yrs) = 334
Total OTD = 30,055.23

Got it from Planet Honda. Extremely good dealership...absolutely no pressure...no haggling. They honored the price they promised me on the phone. Did not pressure me to buy accessories or warranty etc. I am very satisfied and I recommend this dealership to anyone who can commute to NJ.

I hope this is where I should post this, we are getting ready to buy a Honda Odyssey and want to have my ducks in a row before hitting the showroom floor. We have several young kiddos and drive our cars until the wheels fall off. We also plan on using this van to take long road trips.

Buy near or far?

Just relocated from Dallas to Austin, have great contacts in Dallas but not sure if we should buy 300 miles away from where the van would be serviced. Anyone have a good experience with a dealer in the austin area?
EX or EX-L

O.k., we live in TEXAS and if you ain't been here...it's hot so I don't care about leather and never use my moon/sun roof that I have now....should I stick with an EX? What else would an EX-L get me? Would like remote control sliding doors but can't figure out from the web if that comes with the EX. Anyone know?

Accessories

What's really needed? Here is what we were thinking....

wheel locks? Does a suburban soccer mom really need these?

mud flaps

door guard

cargo net vs cargo board? Is the board worth the cost?

Plus one console? always looking for places to stash kid junk but not sure if it is worth the cost?

3rd row sun shade - we plan on having at least 1 child on the 3rd row, is the shade needed?

cross bar? if we are interested in using a hard/soft pack for luggage is the cross bar necessary or do you just need the roof rails?

Now for the price....

I am looking at a MAX drive out price of 27100, tt&l, etc.. Is this good, too much, too little???

  Thanks!
