Replying to: duper (May 13, 2006 8:50 pm) I guess I shouldn't create a fuss about the sales tax on the fees (which would amount to less than 50$). I am going to ask them to put the wheel locks into the price. As for the 27000 price, is that a good price based on what others have been getting recently? thx again

My wife and I have been looking at purchasing an Odyssey for the past month at multiple dealerships in the Atlanta area. On Saturday we finally determined the color we wanted in a EXL Res package. Once I got home I started calling multiple dealerships asking for an "out the door" price including my trade. As a note, a buddy of mine purchased an EXL from Curry for $28,800 OTD last month when there were no dealer incentives. I knew the $28,800 was a solid deal. Anyway, I received a quote of $32,000 "out the door" from Ed Voyles for a EXL w/Res. I then called Gwinnett Place and Curry Honda and received a quote of $31,800 from both, which each one said on the phone that they could offer a little more on my trade and $200 less on the quote. I called Curry multiple times to confirm that $31,800 was right and they said yes. So, on Sunday (Mothers Day) I decided to call Curry again and tell them I now wanted the Navi as well and would pay the additional $2,000 MSRP difference for which I confirmed multiple times on the phone that the "out the door" would be $33,800 including my trade. They said yes, which I told them they better be correct because my wife and child were tired of visiting car dealerships and it was mothers day. The sale manager said we were good. I drove to Curry and found the car I wanted and told the dealership I was ready to make the purchase. Well OVER 2 HRS after being in the dealership and saying lets deal the sales manager finally brings a price to my wife showing the quote as $36,800 drive out. I was really mad after that. Not only was my family sitting around for OVER 2 HRS with not discussion on what the hold up was, but the price was much higher than discussed. The 2 sales managers I spoke to at the dealership said they thought my $33,800 price was after my trade in (96 Accord $2,450 good condition). All this after the one sales manager I spoke extensively with drove my wife and I in the golf cart to the car when we initially got there saying I drove a hard bargain. Please! I told them to go back and see what they could do and the best was $31,900 after doing $3,000 trade-in. Car shopping is not fun and I will never recommend anybody to buy from Curry Honda after the experience I had.

Looks like you can get great deals for Odyssey now in the bay area. Im sure we will see under $30K deals for this model in 2 weeks. Happy Hunting !! Where did you get it? I quoted both Fremont and San Leandro, and both give me about $1 more than yours. |

The prices they were quoting you were just under MSRP, and it seems like most folks are getting their Odyssey's at or below invoice. I was really surprised that I was able to get my Odyssey (EX-L) below invoice since, historically, Honda dealers in my area never then to sell these vehicles at or below invoice. |

Arrived at 7:30pm, drove off at 10:00pm (it took a while to get the car out, as it was 4 deep on the lot) |
