P.S. How much extra should I expect to pay for 15K per month vs. 12K per month?

The residual will drop 2% when you go to the 15K/yr lease from 12K/yr..

If the MSRP is $35K, it will add a little over $700 to your total lease payments.... Or, about $20/mo.

Genester1 - I chose to pay all taxes and fees up front. My goal was to try and keep the payments as close to 400 as possible (even though I insisted we get the DVD player !)Tax rate was 8.65% which translated to just under $1,400. I also had to pay a "Acq Fee" of $595. I was suspicious of this fee only because it was easy to get the car at invoice. Who knows maybe I could have gotten out of this fee - this is my first time leasing a vehicle. There was no security deposit required either. The only negative experience I had was when the finance person tried to sell us Total Loss Protection (GAP Insurance). Not only is it included in all American Honda Leases it is required by NY Law !!!

For April the residuals for the Ex-l, Ex-lR, and EXL-RN was 60, 58, and 56 respectively. I am curious what they are for the month of May. Our salesguy said they dropped a point. I really wanted to wait 2 months but I was afraid with the 07 models coming that the residuals would drop even more!

KYFDX, thank you!

Here's the question: I have no intention of buying the car at the end. I will definitely need the 15K miles per year. Am I better off getting 12K per year, and then gambling on the dealer taking the car off my hands when the lease runs close to being done (buying it and selling it to the dealer as a condition of getting a new car from them), or should I bite the bullet and get the 15K?

Question about the May Lease Special by howard2dot0

A newbie here...
My credit score is 687 and I was wondering if I should even bother to go to the local Honda dealer to see if they would give me the May special of $269/month lease for a 2006 Odyssey LX.
If I can't get a good deal on Odyssey I may have to settle for a Sienna or Quest.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I don't know about the finance, but I am in the Round Rock and have a price of $28790 for the EXL and 29,290 with the res....what are you getting as far as quotes? (both of these include the "appearance package", which they say they are charging $200 for.

Get the 15K/yr upfront..

9000 extra miles for $720... That is only $0.08 per mile...

If you know you are going to use the extra mileage, it is a no-brainer..

Silver color at SC. I am too cheap to buy a EX, but I am happy with the van now. Cross my fingers now.

Like everyone else, I'm trying to find the best price and dealer. Any suggestions? I e-mailed several dealers and when I received a response from them I asked them to break down the cost. So far, the quote was 31,663 plus tax and license is $34480. Another dealer quoted me 31,673 before tax and license. Help? Should I wait til memorial weekend?

Grand Honda in Chicago is selling the fully loaded Touring RES/NAVI for $33,947(this includes $550 destination). The only limit is you can only buy two(2) at this price!
That's as good of a deal I have seen anywhere. All the models (LX, EX, EXL+) are all going for similar discounts. See if your dealer is willing to go this low. I saw the ad for Grand, called a closer dealer to me and they called me back within an hour and said "we accept your offer of $33,947(including destination charges). I think I paid close to this for my 1998 Sienna! Anyway, needless to say, I'm picking the Odyssey up on Monday afternoon. Good luck!

The Grand Honda ad has several great prices in the print ad available off their website. I'm in Texas so I don't know if local dealers would honor....

LX - $21860
EX - $24601
EXL - $26500
EXLRES - $28250
EXLRESNAVI - $30250
Touring RES - $31970
Touring RESNAV - $33947

Concerning the 2007 Odyssey, does anyone have knowledge of what price they will be selling for after they are introduced? Will it be closer to MSRP or Invoice?
