I'm looking for a Odyssey EXL in south Jersey. So far best i have right now is $28,175. Is that a good price ?

Don't know what the deal is but out here in the Seattle area dealers aren't coming close to the prices out east or in CA. I just bought an EX-L for $28,758 +TTL and I had to fight for that. Just about every offer started at $1,500 over invoice (plus destination fee which no one would negotiate) and some were higher. Forget the RES/NAVI models, they wouldn't deal on those at all.

Replying to: harrisforody (Apr 07, 2006 7:37 am) I got a dealer down to $29000 (including dest and doc fee) for a 2006 EX-L RES. Sounds similar to your deal. |

Quoted $29,000 for 2006 EX-L RES in Charlotte, NC. This includes doc fee and destination charge. Does not include tax, title, license. No trade. Dealer quoted this fairly quickly so I think he may even go lower. Is this a good price? |

The Price Paid: $25,700 + TT&L. Price included dealer-installed options (cargo tray, wheel locks, mudguards) with invoice cost of approx $300, making total invoice cost approx $26,401. The Experience: I initially received price quotes from nine dealers via email, all tightly banded between $25,851 to $26,401. Three of the dealers' sales guys played "hide the weenie" regarding the destination charge of $550. They didn't get my business. My initial dealer of choice lost my business by fumbling the hand-off from their Internet sales guy to the salesman assigned to work through the offer in writing. No matter how efficient and effective the whole Internet price-shopping experience can be, the process still leaves you open to the same old sales tactics once you're in the dealer's sales office. My take: the Internet has really narrowed the price range between dealers. In the end, I bought from the salesman I personally liked and trusted, and treated me the best. I probably didn't get the lowest deal ever (I maybe should have bought at the end of March), but I got the deal I was happiest with. Thanks to all on this forum. |
