| I bought a Honda Odyssey EX in Rochester, NY, this weekend. There are good deals to be had. Several local dealers were selling at invoice, and one dealer even beat Mike Pruitt Honda's price by $100. I will post more details after I pick up my car next week - it's on the way from the factory. I'll reveal the name of the dealer then - it was an incredibly easy, hassle-free deal. Thanks to everyone for a very informative forum. | |

Just bought a EX-L (no nav/res) at cary autopark honda in Cary, NC. All prices received via internet sales dept. Cary Autopark 06 Odyssey EXL price paid. 28258 (dest fee included) 3% tax 398 document fee 74.00 tag fee -------- 29577.74 OTD This was there internet/in stock price only. I never spoke with a sales person on site. Could not get them lower on price. Also received a internet price from Crown Honda of Southpoint in Durham, NC after I went back and forth on price(orig quote was 650 over invoice): 28250 + 847.50 tax (3%) + 73 title + 399 doc fee = 29569.50 Leith Honda of Raleigh quoted 250 over invoice. I did not follow up with them. Went with Cary since they had the color I wanted. |

First of all, this forum has been a great help during my car shopping. It's a fantastic store of information for the new car buyer. Now, on to the news. I emailed 11 dealers in the Atlanta area and took the best price to Hennessy Honda (closest to me) and they matched it. They even gave me the roof rails and the cargo net for free. Paid $29,299 + TTL for a slate green EXL-RES for a final out the door price of $31077. Overall it was an excellent shopping experience and I would recommend them to anyone.

Replying to: thwap (Mar 01, 2006 10:33 am) Congratulations on your new vehicle. That was a great price. How did you get 11 quotes. I went to the honda website and requested quotes from 7 dealers and heard back from only 2. Do I have to contact them on the phone or should I go to the individual websites and request a quote. Please advice. Thanks a lot.

Try "Honda dealers XTown" find their sites and book mark them. Now after you have their sites go through their inventory. If you see the exact car you are looking for, more than likely you'll find a form to fill out for more information on that car. Fill it out...and so on. You will be contacted. Honda has a strange way of working their inquiries...lets just say that it's not the best. We have their leads pasrse to another system and that makes all the difference. We can usually have a complete price quote out in about an hour. |

It's been a while since I've participated in the Honda forum (about 6 years). Anyway, I think the prices paid thread is very useful for new car buyers. I listed my request for bids from local dealers on the Edmunds web site and contacted other dealers in Harrisburg and Ohio recommended on this site as well as a Baltimore dealer we've purchased Hondas from before. Here was the offer we accepted from Criswell Honda in Germantown, MD: 27,658 plus frt (550), fee (100), wheel locks (99), 5% Md tax (1420), tags and title (262). The new car, after two days, is great. I can deal with the loss of the coin holder. Heated seats seem sorta kinky, but nice. Dials for the radio, just like the old days. I'll have to find a place to put a compass...

Also, the Sunday AJC has a Wheels section in which it lists all the dealerships for each make along with their individual web sites. Every dealer web site should have a "request a quick quote" link. Fill it in and go onto the next one. With a prewritten form letter, the whole process took about 30 minutes. I began receiving quotes literally within a couple of minutes. I suggest sending them out within a week of the end of the month and make sure to tell them that you intend to make a purchase before the end of the month. They are much more willing to deal during that period. Hope this helps |
