Just bought a 2006 Odyssey EX, Silver Metallic with Stone Cloth interior for 26100 + 149$ document fee. TTL is separate. The dealer was Fowler Honda of Norman. Whole experience was great. I told dealer upfront that i wont buy for more than invoice. Did some negotiations on my trade-in and was driving with Oddy in few hrs. A month ago, no body was agree to sell Ody less than MSRP but now there are plenty in stock and dealers want to boost up their sales number for this year. I've been a toyota owner for a long time and this is my first Honda. I drove both 06 Sienna and Ody and liked Ody more becasue of its sporty feeling. Drive is very smooth, and lots of standard features inside. Few things i did not like much was the way their 3rd seat recline and interior quality. I am not confident on the integrity of pull strap in the long run. Conventional way of doing it would be much more comfortable. I would give Ody an interior rating of 8/10 and sienna a 9/10. Other than that Ody is better than Sienne. |

Thank you very much to everyone, who share their experiences/ suggestions/ recommendation in this wonderful site. The information I gathered in this site was of immense help and made my Odyssey purchase real easy. I really mean it. I think it’s my time to pay back by sharing my shopping details. I live in Gainesville, Florida, and submitted request for quotes to over 15 dealers from Edmunds.com. All dealers gave the quotes, but as I learnt from this forum, I sent them a followup e-mail asking for out-the-door price, which is the key to this shopping! Other than Tampa HondaLand, who tried to play the good old car salesman tricks without giving the OTD price, everyone else gave their OTD price. That’s when I learnt that most of the dealers add a dealer fee or documentation fee (read dealer profit) ranging from $250 to $550 over their original quote! Holman Honda of Fort Lauderdale gave the best quote of $30,304 for 2006 Odyssey EX-Leather and DVD ($29,825 plus $479 dealer fee). I just asked him to include splash guards. That’s it, no bargaining! The internet sales guy was very honest and played no games at all! Though I had to drive 5 hours to get it, it was worth the experience. Internet shopping is indeed the way to buy a car now. Out-the-door cost of 2006 Odyssey EX-L and RES: $30,304 + Florida tax + new tag = $32,341.63 After signing the documents, I asked the dealer to show me the cargo tray and all-season floor mats. I felt they are a must and spent another $236. They gave me about 15% discount. I strongly recommend other buyers to buy them. Make sure you negotiate the quote including splash guards, cargo tray and all-season floor mats. Overall, I spent less than 2 hours on the phone! Paid the deposit with a credit card (faxed it), but the dealer didn’t actually charge until I went there the next day to get the van! I will watch this forum for a few days to answer any questions. Thanks & Good Luck

Thanks for the info I got from this forum. It's time to share our experience. We are in the market for an 06 Odyssey, the best internet quotation we got from Southern California dealer are from Riverside Honda, Power Honda Valencia, Woodland Hills Honda (price in the same ballpark, but Valencia had the best price on an EX-L/DVD/NAV). Today we bought an 2006 Odyssey EX from Power Honda Valencia at invoice (plus tax and document fee obviously). It was a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend this dealer if you are planing to buy an Odessey from southern california! |
