Hi, I am new to toyota and we looked at honda's and I really thought I was going to go with one but I was super disappointed with the test drive and the handling and loud road noise. So toyota here we come... I am unfamiliar with the lingo of toyota. What I am looking for is a toyota with leather seats in stone and slate metallic. I also want DVD in the car. So what kind of options do I have? So for leather seats is my only option the XLE & Limited? For DVD, what package # do I need? Any good deals out there in SoCal for 4th of July? Thanks! Maytal |

I tried and tried to buy a 09 or 10 Sienna in St Louis, MO at the middle/end of June. I could NOT find a dealer willing to sell me a car. I previously posted about an 09 XLE LTD with DVD (no nav) with 5100 miles on it. they wanted $34. my husband offered them 32 cash. they let him walk out of the dealership, he told them he was driving to ST Louis Honda and they said FINE! I could not believe it. I preferred the Sienna over the Odyssey in some ways, but at the end of the day I decided the Ody was for us because of: 1. parent cannot control DVD in Sienna, at all. 2. Sienna's horrible crash test results for rear crashes (Institute for Highway Safety) 3. Sienna is a bit uglier in my opinion 4. The Sienna does not have satellite NAV, it's DVD driven 5. The Sienna has worse residual value than the Odyssey 6. The Ody is XM radio ready, the Sienna is not. I did not think this was a big deal until I got hooked on XM recently. 7. I found the Ody seats a bit more comfy. 8. The Toyota guys at 4 St Louis Toyota dealerships were total a-holes. The Honda guys were as nice as could be and willing to sell cars. Ackerman Toyota in St Louis was willing to sell me a 2010 Sienna XLE EVP3, for under $30K but it was slate blue and every sienna one ever sees is slate blue - a little too pedestrian for me. I liked that the Sienna was quieter, but that's about the only thing that I loved about it. So, I would have bought a Sienna if i could... but I am an Ody owner now for 2 weeks.

I have had a 2007 Odyssey for 2 years and wish I had bought a Sienna! A couple months after I bought it the breaks felt like there was air in the break lines. I finally took it in (I procrastinate because I hate dealing with service departments). They said they could not replicate the problem. I took it back the next day with fresh blueberry muffins and right away they got a mechanic to sit in it and pump the breaks. 10 seconds and he said order a new master cylinder and this is dangerous! They put a new master cylinder and a new VSA modulator on. Another couple months and it started doing the same thing! I am taking it in next week again. I bought this new car for two reasons: safety and reliability (so I wouldn't have to deal with the service department!). From the Odyssey message boards I have heard that this break problem has been going on for years and they still haven't found a solution! I would appreciate any comments on Sienna reliability and Toyota service departments. |

I've had a 2007 Sienna for 2 years and I still love it (2007 XLE FWD) It's the nicest car I'll probably ever own. We bought it over the Ody. It's the family car in our house- I'm going to do a deal on a new Rav4 tonight as our replacement for a 1999 Jetta commuter car- mostly based on driving the Sienna for 2 years and the repair costs on the VW. IMHO, you won't regret the Sienna. I sure don't. |

| Anyone has an 8-passenger Sienna? I was wondering if it can comfortably seat 3 kids in the 2nd row, all in car seat/boosters, including an infant seat. | |

I bought a used SUV from Wilde Toyota and had the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. The car had a smell from the previous owners (smells like puke or milk gone bad) and they said they could remove the smell to our satisfaction by cleaning it. They cleaned it four times and the smell is still there. It is 6 months later. The smell was so bad at one point that we stopped driving the car for two months. They have since attempted to clean the carpet again (if it didn't work the first 4 times-it's not going to work on number 5). They continue to say they will do anything including have a salesman call me but he has never called. I have had this problem for 6 months and they refuse to do what is necessary to rectify the situation. Obviously it will cost them money. I was a loyal customer for over 10 years, but the continued run-around they have given me and now that they have completely stopped returning my calls ensures that I will never buy another car there ever again. I would not recommend anyone buying a used car at Wilde Toyota. Now I am stuck with a car that still smells and the prospect of having to sell it and find a new one. What a nightmare. |

| Hi...I just purchased an XLE in MA, MSRP: $31,390 for $27,200 (this does not include $100 for plate transfer , $300 doc fee or the mass 5% sales tax). I will be getting an additional $3500 off for my cash for clunker car. How does this deal sound? THX | |
