Replying to: scormodo (May 17, 2009 6:51 pm) I'd stay in the lease for now and then see if the purchase makes sense when the lease is over.   Thing is, each transaction you make with the dealer, they are adding a profit layer for themselves. The more changes you make, the worse the deal is going to get.   You probably should have waited until the prior lease is over, but you didn't, so how can you be 100% sure you will want to keep this van longer than the term of the lease? Don't get stuck again, leasing short-term may actually be better for you.   I would not change it.

Replying to: scormodo (May 19, 2009 4:23 am) They (Molle Toyota) offer the same warranty as other dealers. The paper work comes from Toyota. It is a Toyota warranty and you can buy online. Found:   2009 7-pass CE w/ Opt Pkg 1 (cruise/roof rack)   $22,400 including Dest. Charge but not TTL   Seems to be a bit below invoice....   I'm tempted not to shop around but just to buy it straight out... will trying a few different dealers likely yield me much savings?   Thx!

Replying to: scormodo (May 20, 2009 5:52 pm) $25.5k sounds high, because I've seen prices for an EVP2 below that amount.   But...the deal is not that simple, because they're taking over about a grand in lease payments, or at least paying off early termination fees. I guess it depends on what those amount to.   You can't wait 3 months? My guess is you'll save about a grand and get the free use of your current car for 3 more months. Unless you've hit the mileage limit or something.
