Best Sienna purchase route..... by kyunyoo

Thinking about getting 06 Brand new Sienna, I was advised many different routes of purchasing the car. In the order of advertised price (cheapest first), those are,

1. Fitzmall
2. Carmax
3. Costco (?),
4. Local dealer...

I can happily opt with minimum option CE 7 or 8 passenger. Then I found that Fitzmall is by far way better than any other options as it is offering even close to 21k (only for car). Even if I include doc fee of 99, it is still in 21k range... Discourating is it is too far away from my location (Fitzmall is in Washington area, while I am in Detroit MI area...)

I can take a day off from my work and fly to there on Friday and drive the car for 5~600 miles back to my home town however,...

I personally think that if I can get it at around 22k range including all doc fees and hidden fees (at 1k more than Fitzmall price), I would find it from locally. But local dealers in my area, all charge those interesting fees and fees and fees (advertisement fee etc). they even charge something like dealer loan fee even if somebody (my buddy) made a one time payment for his 05 Sienna early last year... As a result, his 05 CE 7 Passenger OTD price became 25k.... they advertised they can sell it at in-voice then, they made up for them by charging those interesting this and that fees.... This is actually one of the significant factor that Toyota dealer pushes me away toward honda dealer. When I bought my 3 honda/acura's, the deal was much simpler and easy, no hidden fees or advertisement fee things, just car price + 6% tax + title + $99 doc fee (which I consider is just a tip for the dealer ^^, the figure of which are all provided before even visiting the dealer shop by phone or email.

This time, I will try Toyota Sienna, if anyone can get me more advise regarding

1. Costco program experience
2. Fitmall experience for out-of-state buyer
3. any good local dealer in South Michigan area
4. Any alternative better way of purchasing brand new sienna....

Thank you in advance.

Whether here or elsewhere, I've yet to see anybody (including out of state buyers) claim to have had a bad experience with Fitzgerald.

Best thing to do here is to directly shop their price against your local stores. Given that their prices are posted on their website (at least the last time I looked), it should be clear to your local dealers that you're not blowing smoke when you ask for a competitive price.

Thinking of a Sienna in May 06 by agnerc

I have been researching on Edmunds for an 06 Sienna and this is the best place I have ever seen to research a vehicle. I have just started reading the discussion boards and I am getting quite confused when I hear of all the ways to purchase a vehicle. I really do not understand how all this works and I would like to get a bit more clarification if possible. I also hear of people not even going into the Dealership and handling everything over the internet and getting good deals, is this true? What I am looking for is the LE 7 passenger and basically the only option my wife is looking for is leather.

Can someone please help me understand where to start, to start getting the best deal possible?

I live in Houston and there are sooo many dealerships around here.

Thanks, Chris

Send emails to 10-20 Toyota stores asking for their best price on the model (with desired options) you seek. Not all will respond but you should get enough replies to get a good read on your local market.

With the internet there's no need to ever set foot on a store's lot if you don't want/need to. They'll even deliver it to your driveway and handle the financing in you dining room if you so desire.

Wow, I tell ya, things have so changed in the way you can deal with a dealership since the last time I bought a car.

I don't think Toyota sells Sienna LEs with factory leather- you have to upgrade to the XLE to get it.

Sorry to break the news to you.

Understand, I just got one reply back from a dealership here in Houston on an LE for 26,400, seems a bit high. I asked to have leather installed and that was it. From the prices I have seen others talk about, this price is a bit higher in houston i guess.

There is no dealing with Toyota and I expect this. The problem with that advertised special is that the CE trim package is a come on the dealers do not actually have one per say. The one and thats one on the the lot is usually white that will be sold as a fleet car or is the vehicle they use as their courtesy car. They may get one a month in if that. I've contacted Toyota by phone and e-mail and discussed my problems needless to say they have not got back to me. And if you have an American trade in they will only give you less then half the blue book. The ploy is to get you to buy the loaded versions and if you cant afford the monthly payment they suck you into the lease. The plus side for Honda is all they carry is the loaded Odyssey but they dont advertise the lower priced version to get you in there.$30,000 plus for a van Id go with a VOLVO if I could afford that.">

I've recently purchased a new sienna and here are the details. I'm in the Philadelphia area and purchased a light blue 7 passenger CE with Option 1(roof rack and cruise). The sticker was 24,914. My negotiated price was $21,200 and added 7% sales tax ($1484) and registration and tags for 196 and I was out the door for $22,880.
