#605 of 12250 1998 Sienna LE
May 10, 2001 (2:06 pm)
With our first baby on the way and my '86 Chevy Celebrity just not looking safe enough for baby (and no a/c) we had to look for used. I couldn't stand the thought of buying a Chrysler or Ford knowing I'd probably put a tranny or head gasket in within a year or two.
Several of my friends have the new Odyssey. They're nice but way too expensive for us right now. I researched and wanted the Sienna for the safety and reliability and size. I was lucky to find a used one at Middletown Toyota in Middletown, Connecticut. Not sure exactly what option packages it has.

I got them to include four new Yokohama Aegis tires to replace the worn Firestone Affinitys, a complete brake job all around, and all the fluids changed. We felt pretty good driving out past the new Siennas. If they are as reliable as people say they are (250,000mi no problem)then I think we got a pretty good deal.

Just got LE with UN, TO and EF, for $24,315.
#607 of 12250 Good price or...?

I saw in this Sunday's Chicago Tribune section on Transportation a brand new Sienna LE with UN Package and FE advertised by a local dealer for $23,000. Am looking for a Sienna for my wife and was wondering if this is a great price, or just one of those bait-n-switch gimmicks. The price is the lowest I've seen for an LE. It's seems lower even than the invoice. Does this mean a CE with upgrade pkg can be had for under $22K? What are your thoughts?

That's about $1000 below invoice! Are there rebates in your area? Helluva deal.

I'm not sure what kind of rebates they have, but the aforementioned Siennal LE was advertised by Schaumburgh Toyota located in Schaumburgh IL, the northern suburbs of Chicago. I've got to go check it out sometime this week. $1,000 under invoice sounds too good to pass up.

It's too good to pass up only if you need a car!
#612 of 12250 XLE bought in San Diego
May 15, 2001 (2:50 pm)
Got my XLE Silver Shadow last Sunday, mother's day, after a week of phone calls to 8 dealerships. Options are UF, BE, EM, LL, and EF for 29,000 destination charge included. MSRP is 32,811. No hidden charges like advertising fee and I was not charged for the gas like some dealers do. Got it from Toyota of El Cajon. Absolutely no haggle.
#613 of 12250 all these abbreviations for options
May 21, 2001 (6:39 am)
I am having a difficult time learning what all these abbreviations for the various options are. I have found some of them on Edmunds web site, but it does not appear to be complete. Can someone tell me where I can find them all?

Not to mention that our spell checker "adjusts" some of the option abbreviations when members post what they purchased.
Anyone else think that Edmunds missed some option packages on the Options and Colors Tab when you search on New Cars? ( example for the CE 4dr)
