Maybe the answer is to start telling the salespeople, "I'm sorry you won't sell what different area Toyota dealers sell. I came here wanting to buy your car and you (not personally but Toyota Management) have talked me out of it. Here is my business card. I am going to the Honda, Mazda (whatever to go buy WHAT I WANT.) When your management wakes up and decides to do business let me know. I want one but you won't let me buy it. Good -bye. (Walk out the door and don't look back.) One or two won't make a difference but if it happens enough, things will change. This is the year 2005 and people are educated. We shouldn't have to put up with this. |

Had to post to thank the forum for help in getting a fair deal on a 2005 Sienna. Good experience with Team Toyota, Langhorne, PA Internet Department. Thought I was going to buy from Fitzmall (Gaithersburg,MD) since I was going to be in the area anyway. Initial email offer from Team was 300 over invoice. After test drive, told them I was buying within the week (but not today) and flashed Fitzmall printout and let them know this was their competition. By the time I got home I had an email from Team with an offer for 200 under invoice (matching Fitz). Negotiated for a few other options over the phone. Final deal: XLE Pkg 6, Carpet Floor Mats w/Door Sill Protector, Cargo Net, Wireless headphones and Auto-dimming mirror. MRSP: 35,361 Invoice: 31,558 Selling Price: 31,239 (319 under invoice excl Tax, tags and doc) |

I have a few questions. Anyone have any luck with an CT Toyota Dealers? We will be in the market for an LE 8 pass. not sure of options. When I went to Lorenson in Old Saybrook for literature I was not impressed with the snide sales person so I don't think they will get my business, unless someone can tell me SUPER things about them. The rest is more of an insurance/accident question, which I posted on that forum, but this board is much more active... I was rear ended yesterday by a tractor trailer-100% his fault. Problem is we have been planning on getting a van this spring and wanted to sell our car privately vs. trading in to try to get a little more $. Now that it's been in an accident we don't feel comfortable selling it to someone. Plus we won't get as mch as we had hoped. Now, our question is: would one recommend taking a check from the insurance company to put toward down payment and trade in the car "as is". My thought is if the estimate for damage is greater than 4k, and we can get 4-5k for a trade in (based on edmunds figures) tha we aren't behind as we had hoped to get 9k for the sale this spring. Or should we jst get it fixed and trade it in this spring as we had planned? Has anyone been in such a situation? For what it is worth the car is an '01 Accord value package with 80k miles, which is high we know. The damage has not been assessed proffessional, but it goes from the top of trunk to the bumper and the entire width of the car, including lights. Thanks for any input. |

Replying to: sjm2 (Mar 10, 2005 9:19 am) You really need to get some firmer numbers before you can make an informed decision here. Broadly speaking, my inclination would be to try to sell the vehicle in its damaged condition (there are many folks who buy 'em and fix 'em up) as your overall net may be greater that way. Also, it seems that you are describing quite a bit of damage, likely more than $4000 worth. |

| Interesting how Toyota has cash back (from $500-1500) on pretty much all of their new 05 vehicles but the Sienna. Wondering if this will continue through spring and summer as we move closer to 06 introduction. | |
| Looking at Sienna LE 8 passenger and XLE 7 passenger. Wife wants moonroof, which we think moonroof only available on XLE. Quotes seem to be ranging from 29,000 for LE to 32+ for XLE. What is best I can expect to get in the Cleveland metro area? I would like to get to 25000 to 27500 | |

Replying to: sjm2 (Mar 10, 2005 9:19 am) I was looking for a LE-8 Package 6 (BZ) in the southwest CT (stamford) area. Visited quite a few dealers, no luck in getting a good deal with any of them....I was going to go to Maryland to FitzMall for the car I needed at the price I was willing to pay. But I got lucky with Toyota North in Mt Kisco. and got a deal for 25,995/- for the above mentioned car. The only thing was that the exact color and package was not in stock so have ordered it for...they promised delivery in 3 weeks which will be sometime end of next week. The price was fantastic, I am still waiting to rate them on the service and delivery part....Hope this helps. If you like to read some more, just do a search on posting from me and you see my whole saga of buying the Sienna...Enjoy!

Replying to: sethi (Mar 11, 2005 11:50 am) Just curious how many times do people go back and forth with offers before settling? I just don't know how far I can push before they say we don't need your business. (This email negotiating is fun-I can be so much more assertive and not back down.) Also, am I correct that a quote from Fitz is set in stone? This site has been extremely valuable to me and I appreciate everyone for that! |

I was quoted 25,995 in MA. good price? or can I expect lower. With the Z1 package (Mats, door sill protector, cargo net, first aid kit, ermergency kit), this gets pretty close to invoice.
