DO NOT GO TO HARTFORD TOYOTA!
I bought my 8seaters Sienna late last year from Hartford Toyota based on the price and the availibility of the model at that time. I've experience bad overall experience from Toyota Motor and especially Hartford Toyota. Here're my issues.
1. Salesman from Hartford Toyota are either roude or incompetent. The first guy I talked to was rude and pushy. The second guy looked better and he just did not know much about the car. He gave me NUMEROUS incorrect answers. He even flat out lied to me that the middle second row seat of the demo car could not move forward because it was bended and damaged! Rarely retun my phone call once they got the deposit.
2. Hartford Toyota did not give me te full tank of gas. I noticed it after I signed off the paper everything. So I thought I'm going to complain directly to Toyota Motor once I receive the survey. which lead to the next few problems.

3. Some guy called me about the survey that I did not receive the full tank of gas and they are going to send me a $50 Mobile gas card. More than a month pass by without anything, I decide to call Toyota number listed on the survey. And that leads me to the next problem.

4. I filled out the survey on the web site. You can fill out the survey in paper format and mail it too. I though I want to use the more reliable medium through Internet. I was wrong. Toyota apprently did not have a clue how to retrieve the survey over the Web site. They told me they got it only paper format! A different department or company handles the Web survey. Incredible...

5. First time I call Toyota customer experience center, the guy named Erictold me he will call me back within 2 days. Obviously, I was lied again. I called Toyota back and they told me that the gas thing is none of Toyota Motor business. I should deal directly with Hartford Toyota.

I sincerely hope everybody has more plesent experience than me. Good luck.

Btw, if my wife did not insist on 8 seaters, I would definitely go with Odyssey!

I was quoted $36,900 for same van in chicago area - I agree that $36,500 would close the deal.

Any thoughts on getting the AWD version?

I love mine. Read the comments regarding run-flat tires on that board before you jump in, but I've had no problem with mine.
I believe AWD supply is much tighter. Prices may not be as close to invoice. Depends on your area.

The additional cost for AWD is not much and, given where you are, I would like it money well spent, both new and for resale purposes.

Tansky? They're the worst of the bunch around here. A business associate was trying to buy a RAV4 last fall and they wouldn't even try to match Germain's OPENING price .

Germain eventually came down another $500 and she bought it very close to invoice at a time when the'05 supply was just about non-existent.

What dealer did you get this deal from? I am ready to buy and I am being offered that price before tax, title and license. I live in Raleigh area.

MSRP was 26,711 (LE option #2) they started at 25,500 right off. I counter offered 24,100 which was $100 more than Fitzgerald's on line listed price for the same vehicle. Tansky called back and said their cost is 24,506 for the vehicle (that included TDA) and did not make a counter offer. Darcar, a Fitzgerald competitor in Maryland is well below the dealer invoice cost also. They have a LE option #5 for sale at internet price of 25,343, that is less than Tansky's option #2. I guess Maryland dealers are not paying TDA. I have just started contacting Germain and Byers this evening. I would not pay more than 24,300 for an LE option #2.

I am in Vegas where every dealer charges $399 doc fee. He is actually giving it to me for $36,500 plus the $399 doc fee. There is no way of getting around the $399 doc fee. Every dealer charges it not just Toyota but every dealer. I guess it's a "code" that all dealers abide by, just like how every dealer in Las Vegas is closed on Sunday. Hard to believe isn't it? Las Vegas is open 24/7 except for auto dealers which are all closed on Sunday.

I feel your pain with Hartford Toyota. The guy (or should I say "kid") who sold me my Sienna Ltd AWD did not call me with a follow-up to see how I was enjoying the van. In addition, after I arrived home from picking it up, there was a six-inch line of ink on the driver's seat (leather I might add). I called the salesman about it and he didn't seemed all that concerned with this ink spot. Why should he since he already made the sale? I really had no intention of buying my van from them since I live an hour away. I just went there for price only and they had the vehicle just sitting on the lot, so there was no wait. I've learned that you're sometimes better off waiting and paying more than to deal with aggravation!

Just make sure you don't give Hartford Toyota any service business....warranty or otherwise. I have no intention on going anywhere near that place!!

I hope you will enjoy your Sienna anyway.

Thanks for the reply - The cost of the option didn't both me, as much as the lower gas mileage. Also, I live in a 5 state region that doesn't have a lot of AWD allocated which means they don't negotiate as low as they do on the fwd they have on their lot.
