i've been e-mailing every toyota dealer in my region (ut, az, co, id, wy) for a 2005 xle ltd awd, gv option package, & apparently they're very rare. only 2 were found in my region. one is in "freight status," and the other is in "allocation status." what do these terms mean? thanks.

I bought the sienna at Boch Toyota South on Route 1 in Attleboro. I believe the MSRP was $40,186, which included just about everything except Navigation and running boards. I offered $37,000 and they countered with $37,900, which I accepted but also had the recent graduate rebate of $400 bringing the purchase price to $37,500 for the XLE LTD with AWD. The experience with the dealer was very good except with Finance. The finance manager ultimately got me the rate I wanted but was non committal until the end. I don't like to have unanswered questions. In addition, he was not willing to budge on the extended warranty. He offered two of them, one was $1,825 and the other was $2,200. I didn't take either since I can buy it from another dealership for $795. It is a great ride so far and I highly recommend it.

I'm guessing that "freight status" means the vehicle has been built and is in the process of being shipped. "Allocation status" means that the (yet to be built) unit is allocated to a particular dealer, i.e., it is slated to go to a specific store sometime (whenever that may be) in the future. I'm not sure how far into the future "allocation status" information is available. Up to a certain date prior to production, dealers can change the equipment on vehicles that have been allocated to them.

Best bet is to follow up with these two stores for more precise information.

Glad to hear you're finding what you're seeking.

Just wanted to add that Del Toyota held the car for me without a deposit (but they did ask that I pick it up within 5 days of me saying that I wanted it) and sent me a signed purchase order right after I asked for it. None of the other dealers would do that for me...in fact it was torture even trying to get a signed purchase order from some of the dealers...
I would not travel to get any car from out of town until they send me a signed purchase order because I had heard of the bait and switch happening a lot.
And Fitz Auto mall said they would beat it until I came to them with the signed purchase order in hand.
I just went to them and told them the best offer I had so far and they matched it without looking at a signed purchase order. So it was a very easy experiance with them.

well, i considered that option and even went to the dealership. i would get about 25k for this van and the new 2005 xle with moonroof and the dvd would atleast cost me 32-33k without even adding the taxes. i had personal reasons for not getting moonroof and dvd. i had never driven a vehicle with moonroof, till i got my second car, fx35 and so i got interested in the moonroof. As for the dvd, since i want to keep the rear seat audio feature i am limited to audiovoxx as no other brand is compatible in this situation. if i trade the 04 van, i think i will be loosing a lot of money for getting these options which i could get for about 2800 installed (asc 840 moonroof and 10.2 inch audiovoxx flipdown rooftop model with in-built dvd, wireless head phones, tv tuner, fm modulator).

This is blatantly false. As far as I know, all 04 and later Siennas are built in the Princeton, Indiana plant. My limited VIN starts with 5TD**

Ask this dealer to show you a Sienna with a J* VIN. Could you please let us know who this dealer is?

2005 Sienna LE 7 Passenger AWD by thefisherman

I too bought one last weekend from Boch Toyota South on Route 1 in Attleboro. Paid $28,400 for the AWD with Package #4 (BJ). This is $650 over Invoice and $1,500 under the Edmunds price here.

I didn't really have much time to haggle as the kids were getting antsy, but I'm fairly happy with the deal. Unfortunately I paid $1,195 for the extended warranty, which was too much. Live and learn.
