Yesterday I inked my deal with a Scottsdale, AZ Toyota dealer..

XLE LTD FWD
Phantom Gray with Stone Leather
HO Package 6 - DVD/NAV
Z1 - mats, door sills, cargo net
RB - Color keyed running board
RF - Color keyed spoiler (yes, RORR, a spoiler )
Gold package (emblems & logos)

Got my deal at $600.00 over invoice. Over $5000 off MSRP!
Oh how I enjoyed emailing the other dealers who laughed at me when I requested my original quote........

Happy to share my experience with anyone who would like the details, or is in the Phoenix area needing a Sienna.

So DAVENOW, Impact, and many others - THANK YOU.
and also a big thank you to everyone who contributes to these boards. It certainly has made an absolute difference in they way my whole car buying experience has gone...
You guys & gals all rock !!

I expect our new gray bundle of joy in 6-8 weeks..
I'll have the cigars ready for all of you.

Steve_HOST - get a Sienna.

Im looking for a LE 8 passenger sienna.
i live in southern colorado and the dealer here has added their extra MSRP sticker for an additional
$3000!!!!!. thats over Toyota's MSRP so an LE is around $33000. I told them last summer that I could get one online for about $1000 over toyotas MSRP and they said "youd better buy it"
Im willing to drive many miles to save big bucks.

Nickles--Id like to know which dealer you talked to in Arizona.

Thanks!!
Feel free to email me

Saw your comments in another Town Hall Forum so I wanted to read your other comments.
As guilo commented, Colorado dealers are unlike those where you live. I have had similar experience as guilo in the Denver area. I don't even like to "window shop" as the last Toyota salesman and a cohort were obnoxious and pushy just last Saturday...unlike one at the same dealership about 6 months ago. I lost his card and could not remember his name.
There is one excellent salesman at the Honda dealership not far from Toyota that was pleasant before the new 2004 Sienna arrived. That is why the Honda Odyssey is now a more likely purchase when I get ready than the Sienna. I would probably buy a Sedona before a Sienna if there isn't another pleasant Toyota salesman when I need my next new vehicle.
I don't care how superior a vehicle is if the salesman and dealership are jerks.

I can't believe it.....a spoiler....<rolls eyes>

Congrats man. Sounds like a heckuva a deal. Did you let your salesman know that you already had a deposit down on a Quest SE? That may have helped in your negotiations.

Wife and I can't quite make up our mind between an LE w/ pkg#4 (airbags/Trac/VSC) or an XLE w/ pkg#12 (safety items plus heated leather). I'm leaning towards the XLE since it seams the dealers are actually starting to....deal.

Has anyone seen the dark blue ("stratosphere mica") in person? It looks like it could be a stunning color.

I like that color.

I wonder why a lot of people dont seem to be choosing the DVD player option? Am I the only one with young kids?

Rorr & Guilo DVD options by nickles

yep, I did tell him I already had a buyers order for a 04 Quest.. I don't think that played one way or the other. (but who knows ?? )
In fact, he gave me excellent guidance on what I need to do should Nissan not want to refund my deposit.
Actually just spoke to Nissan today, and they have already credited my credit card!
Have you test drove both models ? I didn't step into an LE, so I don't know what it's like.. But the XLE I drove was beatuifully appointed.. the woodgrain accents, leather etc.. I think there may be some interior 'upgrades' when moving from an LE to an XLE . ?

Have also sent a couple of emails to those Toy dealers in MD and IL as explained in earlier posts, for the Plantinum Toyota service contract.. (weedshasta/davenow) -- will let you know how that turns out.

Guilo,
The whole reason my Quest wasn't going to be delivered until MAY was because I opted for the TWO DVD players. This is factory installed, and there was not one Quest availale with that option
my dealer had a couple other Quest SE's on the lot, they had EVERYTHING i needed except that 2nd DVD player.
Nissan needs to be taught a lesson by this, as I think they already have by the slumping sales..
anyway, I am sure there are others out there who MUST have the DVD option.. (we have 2, soon to be 3, kids)
Also - i also spoke to my Toyota guy and he said you don't even have to come down, he'll transport it up to you in CO.
That Strato Mica color I have not seen in person.. But By looking at pictures on the web, it doesn't seem to be consistent (some have been too dark, too light etc..) - I wouldnt imagine it's anything fancy, because it doesnt have an addition pain cost like the Arctic Frost.

Statosphere mica by mark76

I saw one in person and didn't like stratosphere mica at all. It was too dark and didn't give off any metallic shine - if that's what you're after. Color is a very personal preference. IMO Blue Mirage metallic is vastly better looking. It was our 2nd choice behind the Salsa Red we went with. We even saw a rare Aspen green, which was surprisingly nice. I guess I'm just getting a little tired of seeing so many beige, white and silver cars on the road. One dealer told me more and more people are asking for more vibrant colors. But our local dealer lots are just loaded with white, silver, beige and grey vans.

In the end only you can decide what color you want. I suggest doing an inventory search on the web of your local dealers to see who has a stratosphere Sienna and check it out - on Sunday if you don't want to be bugged. The little color chip in the brochure or on the web can be deceptive.

Didn't buy the Sienna by leesburg

I've been reading the posts on this board for the last two months and was set on buying a 2004 Sienna. This week my husband and I were ready to put down the money, especially before the end of the month. I began calling around to find out what was available. During this time, I also called the local Honda dealer to see about a red Odyssey I had noticed. Well, long story short, we ended up buying the 2004 EX with cloth & DVD last night. I think we got a pretty good deal -- $26,600 OTD. In the end, the amount of perks on the Honda were a better deal than the Sienna at the same price. Also, I wasn't too crazy about the package system with the Sienna -- in choosing a package, you end up with some the upgrades you want and not others. With the EX we ended up with DVD, power driver seat, traction control, dual power sliding doors and jam protection (I have a small child). You can't get all these in a Sienna for the money I spent.

In the end, we are very happy with our new Odyssey. Any comments?

Sienna XLE with Package #12 by bkr

Drove off in our new Sienna yesterday. Thanks to people that posted messages about prices, dealers, etc.

We started with an Autofair price (about $1000 off MSRP) and my wife then called various dealers to see if they could beat the price. After a couple of days we ended up with Toyota of Acton, Toyota of Watertown and Toyota of Attleboro (Boston, MA area) with very similar prices.

The lowest bid:

Toyota Sienna XLE#12 N1, WH and Z1

MSRP: 33,230

OTD Price: 29,995 + TTL

One comment: Calling around for price was so much better than negotiating in the dealership.

It took 2 weeks to get the Sienna from another dealership.
