XLE vs. LTD, NAV or not by ctkand

We have zeroed in on the Sienna as our van of choice and are now trying to decide WHICH Sienna. If we got the XLE, we would add pkg #16 (GJ) so that would make the only major differences between the XLE and the LTD the better cruise control and the rear/front sonar for about a $1200 difference. Do LTD owners out there find these features worth the extra $$? Also, we are trying to decide if the Navigation feature is worth it - it seems pretty cool but has anyone out there put it to real use and found it worthwhile? Is the backup camera that useful? One of the downsides to NAV for me is that I have to give up the 6-CD changer for it! Anyone bought an XLE with #16 or XLE Limited with #4 (HE) or #6 (HO) for a good price they could post? Thanks!!

I am shopping for an GH or GJ package in DC metro area. I am able to get a drive out for GJ for 34,505 and for a GH with 33,700 ( both of them are out of the door prices) Also for the GH the price includes a dealer installed DVD system ? Is this a fair deal or can I still negotiate further ?

XLE vs. LTD, NAV or not (ctkand) by jester_monk1

I am also looking at either a loaded XLE or XLE LTD.

I would like to get any input of whether around $750 over invoice for XLE LTD (with #6)is a good deal here in LA or not? There are a couple of folks who can get me there. That puts me at $34,402+$750 = $35,152 + Tax (8.25%) and license.

Would like input on the value of NAV + reverse CAM vs. 6-CD changer also. Gotta get it done quickly so would appreciate any input on price as well as the options.

I would say the LTD is definitely worth the added cost for the features you get (parking sensors, Laser cruise, HID lights - I would be willing to pay $1000 for the lights alone). I find the rearview camera needs a little bit of getting used to. Having to press "I agree" button on the NAV everytime is somewhat cumbersome, but I find one needs only the address to go to any place.

jester_monk1, $35152 for FWD LTD HO is a very good deal, but are you sure you aren't missing the TDA?. carsdirect.com gives the more accurate invoice prices. For me NAV+reverse cam is more worthwhile than a 6 disk CD changer, because I don't listen to CDs all that much.

My Sienna buying experience by mark76

We just put in an order for a Salsa Red XLE with option pkg #5. 4 wheel disc brakes, Stability and traction control, and side/curtain air bags were must haves. Had to spring for the non-essential sunroof to get the important stuff but it'll be fun to open during our pleasant Wisconsin summers. Leather and DVD were of no interest to us. That red makes a bold statement!

Wilde Toyota in Milwaukee offered a great no-nonsense buying experience for us. I was quoted an internet price and was able to get if for 2300+ below MSRP. No tricks were played like "oh we can't find the price we quoted you". Plus they were more than willing to work with me to place a custom order. My option pkg. is not standard for this region. No pressure to buy from on the lot. The salesperson was courteous and professional. He encouraged us take a long test drive on Freeway, city, and suburban roads.

Now we must wait for the van - 4 to 6 weeks I expect the close will go OK.

I feel we got a fair deal. One always wonders how much better you could have done. (If I were to wait too long then interest rates may start going up and I could be at a net loss.) But from what I had researched I wasn't sure if I'd be offered more that 500-600 off MSRP. My experience with other local dealers was not as positive for a variety of reasons; pushy incompetent salesperson who considered a 10 minute test drive around the block sufficient or dealers unwilling to special order (3-4 month wait one dealer told me!)

This is my first experience with a "foreign" make car. (yes, I know they are made in Indiana.) Since this model has been out over a year, and knowing Toyota's reputation, I expect this to be a reliable van. I've lost faith in Ford due to the fact my 96 Sable wagon with "only" 104K has become very high maintenance. (I'll save these gripes for another discussion group.) Sorry Ford, you lost me.

Toyota Administration Fees by owner2b

Anyone know what a Toyota Administration Fee is? My dealer is trying to add on this hokey charge of almost $500, saying it is something they are charged by Toyota.

I'm getting the Limited with pkg 5, Arctic Frost Pearl, same as your van, apparently! Color was more dh's choice. I really wanted dessert sand mica. Anyway, as for the deal. I have 2 uncles who work at the same Toyota dealership in another state from where I live. Was planning on going there next week anyway for spring break with the kids (grandparents live there too) and decided to see what my uncles could find for me. I didn't really check to see what kind of a deal I could get locally because I assumed they would get me the best deal. Well, from what I've read here, I'm not so sure. We got about 2,000 off MSRP. Oh, well. I'm incredibly excited. 8 more days now. HOPEFULLY there are no problems with delivery. It's scheduled to leave the factory TODAY. Already bought the kids new DVD's for our drive home. Oh, and as for the new Town & Country coming out...I did see that it would have fold-in 2nd row seats and a 3rd row DVD screen. That would've been nice to have but not worth the thousands more I'm sure it's going to cost. Not to mention, I do love the way the Sienna drives!

Double check with the dealer and make sure they aren't talking about a TDA fee (Toyota Dealer Advertising).

Do a discussion search in here for TDA for more details.

Finally, concentrate on what it costs to get the van off the showroom floor, and don't get too hung up on the line items. It's that final price you need to really worry about.
