I noticed that in OK, we pay car tax at the tag agency. So when we buy cars, the car dealers don't charge us tax, so our OTD price is not the same as other states like TX, etc.
Right?

But I think you got a great deal--almost $3K off MSRP.
How much was your total price including OTD plus Tax, Title, and Tag?

Andrewtran71,

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I have been swamped and have not had an opportunity to check the forum as often as I would like.

You are correct regarding the difference between OK and other states and how they handle the payment of the tax, title, and tag for a new vehicle (varies from state to state).

Personally, I think the best way to determine how good a price a person gets on a new Sienna is without including the tax, title, and tag. While these tax related items do factor into the actual cost of ownership they can vary widely depending upon where you live. The tax, title, and tag fees are fixed expenditures determined by each state and not the car dealers themselves.

Regarding your second question, the Tag Agency said we should receive the original title by certified mail, and then we can proceed with the payment of the other items. Until then I am in the dark as much as you are.

It is funny how the top of the line model didn't have a power passenger seat. I don't really care about it but having would be nice. Though I still want to know what will be added to 2004. My son has a habit of polishing cars so if I would add a color, add black.

If I remember correctly, the tax is like 3.25%, the title is like $11, and the tag is like $85.

Your Sienna Limited cost you about $33,200, assuming $100 for fees. Thus I would estimate your tax to be $1,079 and therefore your Out-The-Door final cost to be $33,300 + $1,079 + $11 + $85 = $34,475.

But yeah, I agree with you that the best price is determined by how much you got off MSRP since the state excise tax in Texas is twice that of Oklahoma and California is almost 3 times that of Oklahoma.
In other words, if we got $3K off MSRP in Oklahoma and someone from California got $3K off MSRP, it means we paid about $2K less "out-the-door".

Connecticut and/or RI deals on XLEs by falls1

Looking for XLE in RI or Connecticut. One CT dealer had "best rate" and another was "sleazy sales our us". All Siennas are coming in with NO dvds. The dealer is telling us a DVd is $1895. Anyone paying this for a DVD with TV reception?

What size screens are you getting for what price?

Manchester, NH...Go to Autofair...better yet, look on their web site and it will show you there low price. They have some of the best deals anywhere. And, if you get package 5 (which comes w/ DVD player 7" and rear spoiler and 2 115V outlets and cargo box, it will cost you dealer cost of about 1560...list is $1950.

04 LTD FWD - It's still there!
just for a $500 scobble! If they sold it to me it would have saved them $$, but no!!! Just just care about getting high $$ return per vehicle.
Mileage: 10
 Stock Number: 41721
 VIN: 5TDZA22CX4S102559

What do you think about turn rate now??

Just a bogus concept to keep dealer happy about why they turn down fair deals!

Falls1 too much for the dvd player by momstruck1

we were told by one dealer that the dvd was 1400 and we thought that that was alot . we also questioned why none were being shipped with the dvd player. we were thinking of putting in our own dvd player at a best buy or electronics place. It is a little less for the bigger screen and if you are purchasing the van out right and not leasing it is an investment in your car anyway. that is how we are looking at it. if we could find the xle we want then that would be great. Are you finding that a few of the xle's we looked at all had running boards at $400-$600 for them we really don't need or like them. Why ship this when people with small kids want the dvd players!!

Just wondering what the quality of the toyota dvd system is versus the aftermarket ones. Toyota Canada wants $2646.00 CDN for one and I have seen them in stores for around $1000 CDN.
